    Nicholas Rath, 70, of the Town of Woodville (Calumet County), died at 12:20 a m. Saturday at Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton.
    Mr. Rath, who had been janitor at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John for the past 30 years, had been in failing health for five month: he was taken to the hospital last Wednesday. A son of the late George an Augusta Schaeffer Rath, he was born in the Town of Woodville April 30, 1881. He married Mary Helen Gae at St. John's Church, Dec. 27, 1938. Following marriage the couple farmed in Woodville until Mr. Rath began his maintenance for the parish. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. John Parish and was a former Knight of Columbus.
    Surviving are his wife: a daughter, Miss Mary Florence at home, and a sister, Miss Anna Rath of St. John. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
    The Requiem Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Church with the Rev. Leonard Welfel, pastor, celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
