Obituary:
Barbara A. Horn, 71, Sherwood, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born on Dec. 22, 1929, in Kaukauna, daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Jaeckels) Buchinger. On Sept. 14, 1972, Barb married Norbert Horn.
The couple lived in Sherwood where, from 1972-1984, they owned and operated "The Granary" Supper Club. Barb worked at area restaurants, delis and grocery stores her entire life, to name a few, The Red Owl in Kaukauna, Jack n Jill in Sherwood, and as of late, Pick 'n Save in Darboy.
Barb and Norbert shared the joy of creating arts and crafts. Barb and Norb cherished many weeks sightseeing, fishing and visiting at their cabin in the northwoods. Barb lovingly referred to her grandchildren as her "Little Angels," who would help her trim her Christmas tree yearly.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood, the Red Hat Society, Curves and the Catholic Knights of Sherwood.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Norbert; her children, Bruce (Michelle), Combined Locks, and their children, Moriah, Alyssa, Evan and Jared; Toni (Dale) Reh, Menasha; and Eric (Janet) Koehler, Oshkosh, and their children, Erika, Ryan and Cory; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Mark (Dorothy) Buchinger, Kimberly; and Jean Buchinger, Brillion; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Catherine (Louis) Seegers, Kimberly; and Mary Margaret (Bud) Schmitt, Seymour. She is further survived by her husband's family, Eugene Horn, Menasha; Josephine Van Linn, Neenah; Shirley Horn, Menasha; and Elizabeth (Tony) Meulemanns, Florida.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and an infant sister.
Mass of Christian Burial for Barb will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, N369 Military, Sherwood, with Fr. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Friends will be received on Monday, March 28, 2011, at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Parish Prayer service concluding the evening. Friends may call again on Tuesday directly at Church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
