    Herman Arndt, 57, lower Cliff, was burnt to death about 8 o'clock Monday morning when he apparently fell into the lime kiln pit at High Cliff. An inquest into the death will be held Monday in Calumet County. Arndt was working on the top of the kiln running a cart which dumps limestone into the kiln. He had been employed at the kiln since he was 14 years old.

    Obituary:
    Sherwood - Clarence Kasten, 22, of here, died at 5:30 Tuesday morning at a Green Bay hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his father, two brothers, Leslie and Leonard of Sherwood; one sister, Miss Mildred Kasten of Appleton. Funeral services will be held at the Eldridge Funeral Home, Hilbert, today, and at the Evangelical church of Dundas at 2 o'clock.

    Kasten, Leonard A. "Boyce"
    Leonard A. "Boyce" Kasten, age 86, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 28, 2008. He was born January 15, 1922, in the Town of Woodville to the late Herman and Mary (Arndt) Kasten. Boyce farmed most of his life and had worked at Thilmany for a number of years. He loved music and played guitar. Boyce's biggest pride was his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
    He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Arline; their children: Len (Faye) Kasten, Germantown; Carol (Joe) Schug, Kent, WA; Dick (Jane) Kasten, Janesville; Kathy (Wes) Hedrich, Brillion; Bob (Marianne) Kasten, Menasha; Paul Kasten, Fond du Lac; Tim (Becky) Kasten, Kaukauna; and Amy (Tony) Thiel, Stockbridge; 13 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Bertha Winter; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Clarence Kasten and Leslie (Laverne) Kasten; a sister and brother-in-law, Mildred (Leo) Mader.
    Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2008, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Kaukauna, with Pastor Walter Steinbach officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, March 2, 2008, at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Kaukauna, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again directly at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name for Bethany Lutheran Church and the Parkinson's Foundation.
    The family would like to thank the Staff of St. Paul Home for their care and concern.

Clifford was united in marriage to Margaret Birling, on Sept. 7, 1940, and she preceded him in death in 1974.
    Cliff served his country in the U.S. Army. Cliff was a member of the Civilized Conservation Corp. (CC's) from 1935-36. Upon his retirement in 1980, Cliff had worked for many years at Central Paper. He enjoyed woodworking, especially building birdhouses. Cliff loved the outdoors and was a fisherman, hunter and a gardener. He also liked playing a few hands of Sheepshead and cribbage.
    Sports were another favorite pastime, watching his favorite teams like the Cubs, Brewers, and the Packers in that order. Cliff was a family man and tried to spend as much time as possible with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Cliff will be missed by his loving family, including his son, David (Marilyn); son-in-law, Dean Planert; four grandchildren, Dan (Leah) Planert, Chad (Stacey) Arndt, Wendy (Matt) Blansette, Melissa (special friend, Jason) Hildebrand; six great-grandchildren, Patrick, Ashley, Rheanna, Austin, Sam, Jordan; one sister, Delores Giebel; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors and friends.
    He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Rita and Ruth; one sister and three brothers.
    A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Town of Menasha.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dan and Leah for living and caring for Grandpa for the past ten months. Your love and kindness will always be remembered.

She was born on May 31, 1925 in High Cliff daughter of the late Herman and Ida (Fiedler) Arndt. She married Gordon Eldred on Nov. 28, 1941 in Sherwood. She and her husband farmed throughout her life. She enjoyed playing sheepshead with her family and friends.

    Delores "Tudy" E. Giebel 82, of Chilton, passed away on June 15, 2015 at Calumet Medical Center. She was born to Herman and Ida (Feidler) Arndt at High Cliff on August 16, 1932.
    Tudy worked at Chilton Metal Product and Foley for years until her retirement and enjoyed tending to her gardens of beautiful flowers and vegetables.
