    MRS. LAURA WACHLIN
    Mrs. Laura Wachlin, 69, died Friday
    morning at the home of her
    daughter, Mrs. B. B. Mayerhoff, 1108
    W. Prospect-ave, after an Illness of
    six months. In July Mrs. Wachlin
    underwent an operation from which
    she never recovered.
    Mrs. Wachlin came to the United
    States with her parents, Mr. and
    Mrs. August Neumann, from Marienberg,
    West Preusen, Germany, at
    the age of 12, and settled In Chicago.
    She married Henry Wachlin, and in
    1877 they moved to Appleton.
    Survivors are four daughters, Mrs.
    Henry Harp, Milwaukee; Mrs. B. E.
    Mayerhoff, Mrs. Benjamin J. Pekarske,
    and Mrs. Andrew Smith, all of
    Appleton; two sons, Emil Wachlin,
    Appleton, and Arthur Wachlin of
    Black Creek; fourteen, grandchildren
    and three great grandchildren; three
    sisters, Mrs. Carl Schultz,, Chicago;
    Mrs. George Wolff and Mrs. Henry
    Bush, Appleton; three brothers, Fred
    Neumann, Chicago; August of Appleton,
    and Emil of Milwaukee. '
    Funeral services will be held at
    1:30 Monday afternoon at the home
    of Mrs. Mayerhoff, and at 2 o'clock
    at St. Paul's Lutheran church with
    the Rev. F. M. Brandt In charge.

    It has been confirmed by Bethlehem Church of Chicago, Illinois, that Friedrick Wachlin was born in 1877 & bapt 1877 & died 1880. All dates are accurate except year. He was buried at Forest Home in Forest Park, Ill.. Church did not give me burial date. death cert says he was 2 yr 5 mo 9 days at death-making born Oct 30, 1877. If they did not count the hours he was alive on day of death -that would be Oct 29, 1877.

    pleton resident since 1923. Mrs. Mayerhoff
    was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran
    Church, a 50 year member of the
    Ladies Aid, a member of the Valpariso
    University Guild, and the Appleton Memorial
    Hospital Auxilary. Survivors include
    a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Leona)
    Rogers of Appleton; 1 grandson, James
    Rogers of Appleton; 4 great grandchildren,
    Susan, Michael, Lori, Bruce
    all of Appleton; a sister, Mrs. Andrew
    (Rose) Smith of Black Creek; numerous
    nieces and nephews. She was preceded
    in death by her husband, Ben in 1966,

    James G. Rogers, age 77, of Appleton, died at Appleton Medical Center on December 30, 2007, surrounded by his loving family and Fr. Gerald Falk. Jim was born on August 15, 1930, in Appleton, to the late Earl and Leona (Mayerhoff) Rogers. He was a 1949 graduate of Appleton High School. Jim married Audrey Mullen at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom on June 22, 1954. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1953. Jim was stationed in Korea in 1952, attached to the 801st Air Evacuation Squadron. He was a retired Postal Letter Carrier with over 30 years of service. Following his postal career he was employed at AAL for 13 years.

    Jim was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the American Legion Post 38 and VFW Post 2778. He especially enjoyed deer hunting with his sons and trout fishing with his buddies.

    Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Audrey; his daughters: Susan (Mark) Vander Linden, Appleton, and their children, Paul, Sandy (Richard) Gibson, Andrew and Jenny; and Lori (Michael) Bartsch, Hortonville, and their children, Dustin, Lizi, Ezra and Leah; his sons: Michael (Susan) Rogers, Winchester, and their sons, Cody and Sam; and Bruce "Buck" (Karen) Rogers, Larsen, and their children, Gunnar, Brenna and Tanner. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

    Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne "Bud" Rogers. He enjoyed the many small children on his South Side mail route that he delivered for the last 28 years.

    Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008, at MOUNT OLIVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 East Florida Avenue, Appleton, with Rev. Joel Zank officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Thursday from NOON until 3 p.m. and then directly at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to benefit the American Heart Association and the Kidney Foundation.

    Mrs. Ben Mayerhoff (Anna Wachlin) 720 W. Fifth St. Age 94, died Monday morning after a short illness. She was born April 7,1881 in the Town of Grand Chute to Henry and Laura Wachlin. She had been an Appleton resident since 1923. Mrs. Mayerhoff was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, a 50 year member of the Ladies Aid, a member of the Valpariso University Guild, and the Appleton Memorial Hospital Auxilary. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Leona) Rogers of Appleton; 1 grandson, James Rogers of Appleton; 4 great grandchildren, Susan, Michael, Lori, Bruce all of Appleton; a sister, Mrs. Andrew (Rose) Smith of Black Creek; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben in 1966, and a grandson, Wayne Rogers in 1943. Complete funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard K. Pankow officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 3 until 9 Tuesday and from 8 until 9:30 Wednesday, and after 10 at the church until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established for Mount Olive Lutheran Church and Appleton Memorial Hospital.

    Nona L. Van Straten, age 97, Shiocton, finished her journey on Saturday, May 14, 2016. She was born on April 16, 1919, in Appleton daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Randerson) Wachlin. On February 19, 1936, she was united in marriage to Clark Van Straten at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Black Creek. Together they raised 8 children. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1950. Nona was a life long member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Shiocton; where she participated in St. Ann Christian Mother's Society. She traveled extensively with her children throughout the years.
    Nona is survived by her children: Jacqulyne (Gary) Waterstradt, Suamico; Tom (Janice) Van Straten, Shiocton; Richard (Kathy) Van Straten, Neenah; Gary Van Straten, Shiocton; John (Lucy) Van Straten, Appleton; Joe (special friend, Barbara) Van Straten, Shiocton; and Jane (David) Reinke, Appleton; 33 grand-children, many great grandchildren and many great, great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marie (Randerson) Wachlin, husband Clark, infant daughter Janice and daughter, Jeanne Vanderzanden, granddaughter, Connie Van Straten, brother, Delbert Wachlin and sister Rosemary VanKleeck.
    The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Brewster Village for their tender, loving and compassionate care during the last nine years.
    Funeral services for Nona will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Denis Catholic Church, Shiocton with Bishop Robert Morneau and Deacon Ken Bilgrien officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Jim was born on August 15, 1930, in Appleton, to the late Earl and Leona (Mayerhoff) Rogers. He was a 1949 graduate of Appleton High School. Jim married Audrey Mullen at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom on June 22, 1954. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1953. Jim was stationed in Korea in 1952, attached to the 801st Air Evacuation Squadron. He was a retired Postal Letter Carrier with over 30 years of service. Following his postal career he was employed at AAL for 13 years. Jim was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the American Legion Post 38 and VFW Post 2778. He especially enjoyed deer hunting with his sons and trout fishing with his buddies. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Audrey; his daughters: Susan (Mark) Vander Linden, Appleton, and their children, Paul, Sandy (Richard) Gibson, Andrew and Jenny; and Lori (Michael) Bartsch, Hortonville, and their children, Dustin, Lizi, Ezra and Leah; his sons: Michael (Susan) Rogers, Winchester, and their sons, Cody and Sam; and Bruce "Buck" (Karen) Rogers, Larsen, and their children, Gunnar, Brenna and Tanner.     William R. VandenBloomer, age 61 of Mountain, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born July 10, 1956 to the late Elmer and Donna (Smith) VandenBloomer and was raised in Oneida. Bill married Brenda Neshek on March 31, 1978 in Black Creek. For many years, Bill was self-employed. Bill greatly enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.
    William is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughters, Billie Jo, Lisa (Clyde), and Laura; 8 grandchildren, Kristia, Elijah, Logan, Lance, Nolan, Breanna, Bella, and Delilah; 1 great-grandchild, Kaden; 3 brothers, Butch, Jeff (Tina), and Mike; 7 sisters, Bonnie, Colleen, Tina (Jim), Vickie, Lynn, LuAnn, and Becky (Bill); 2 brothers-in-law, Steve Neshek and Bruce (Bonnie) Neshek. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Viola and Harold; a sister, Kim; a brother-in-law, Duane Krueger.
    Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 12 pm with Pastor Bill Krauss officiating.
