    Obituary:
Rita Mary Ann Van Sambeek, Kimberly, age 90, died Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Appleton. She was born in Appleton on June 12, 1926 to the late Tony and Matilda (Verhagen) Oudenhoven. Rita married Pete Van Sambeek Jr. on August 20, 1946 at Holy Name Parish in Kimberly. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2005.
Rita is survived by her children: Judy (Loran) Pilling of Minneapolis; Barb Van Sambeek of Appleton; Jim (Joy) Van Sambeek of Appleton; Donna Van Sambeek of Kimberly; Becky (Dave) Van Boxtel of Kimberly; and Dan (Kim) Van Sambeek of Appleton; 9 grandchildren: Rhonda, Renee, Bridget, Peggy, Brian, Gretchen, Tiffany, Clint and Shelby; 4 great grandchildren: Nathan, Natalie, Noah and Alana.
Rita is also survived by sisters-in-law: Marion, Carol and Carole Oudenhoven, Agnes ( Mickey ) Gray, Patricia ( Lester ) Plutz; and brother-in-law: Tom ( Maria ) Van Sambeek. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; brothers: Jerome, Ken and Don Oudenhoven; and great granddaughters, Faith and Hannah Brantmeier.
Her greatest loves were her husband and family, faith, sewing, and later in life, reading. Rita could sew anything from wedding dresses to Clint's destroyed blue jeans! There was always a pile of clothes to sew or patch from us kids, and later a pile of books to read.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at ST. PAUL PARISH (409 Wallace St. Combined Locks). The Rev. Andrew Kysely will officiate. Following Mass, Rita's family and friends will gather to share in fellowship and memories in the church basement.
In lieu of flowers Mom requested any donations be set aside for the Kimberly Public Library.
