    Obituary:
    Mable Jenny Van Hoof, age 103, of Freedom, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Edmund and Octavia (Vander Vest) Fabry on March 16, 1913.     Mabel Jenny Fabry Van Hoof
    Mabel passed away at the age of 103 on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Grand Horizons II Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.
    She was born in Door County the daughter of the late Edmund and Octavia (Vandervest) Fabry. On September 28, 1963 she was united in marriage to Clarence Van Hoof in Green Bay. They celebrated 43 years of marriage. She was a resident of Freedom since 1963. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church Freedom.
    Mabel worked at Malcore Dry Cleaners until she married. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, traveling, gardening, cooking, and baking. She made the best homemade bread and Belgium pies. Playing King's Corners with her grandchildren was a favorite pastime.
    She is survived by three step-sons: Jerry (Pat) of Combined Locks, Jack (Pat) of Freedom, Joe (Dee) of Freedom; four step-daughters: Mary Van Hoof of Freedom, Bonnie (Gordy) Johnson, of Cambria, Ann (Dan) Devine of Mackville, Kris (Bill) Lecker of Appleton; daughter-in-law Marlene Van Hoof; and 24 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence; step-son Ron and step-daughter Jeanne Middleton; sisters: Rose Corsten and Alice Huisman; brothers: Alvin Fabry and Harry Fabry; and in-laws Marie Kamps, Wally Van Hoof, Ken Van Hoof, and Evelyn Nackers.
    Funeral services for Mabel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10 at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, W2037 County Rd S, Freedom with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
    The family wishes to thank the many special people from Grand Horizons II Assisted Living, Southern Care Hospice, Home Instead Senior Care, Pat, Janet, LuAnn, and June for their loving care.
    We love you Mabel and we will miss you!

    Alvin Jule Fabry, 93, formerly of Brussels, died at Bornemann CBRF, Green Bay, Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007.
    He was born Aug. 13, 1914, in Door County to Edmund and Octavia (Vandervest) Fabry.
    Alvin farmed in the Brussels area for many years and also did local construction work. July 22, 1936, he married Blanche Pierre in Namur. She preceded him in death Feb. 9, 1983.
    Survivors include his daughter, Karen (Jerry) Buechner, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Dale Fabry, Debbie (Steve) Baenen, Dan (Debra) Noel, Dean (Valerie) Noel, Patti (Dan) Lautenbach, and Brenda Buechner; seven great-grandchildren, Alicia (Christian) Phillips, Brent Baenen (special friend, Michelle), Justin Noel, DaVonte King, DaKwan James, Alexis and Laci Lautenbach; two great-great-grandchildren, Ty and Kade Phillips; three sisters, Rose Corsten, Alice Huisman, and Mabel VanHoof; a sister-in- law, Odile Pierre; and nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son and daughter-in-law, Claude (Marian) Fabry, a grandson, Tim Fabry; a brother, Harry (Evelyn) Fabry; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard Malcore, Tim Corsten, John Bader, Clarence Huisman, Clarence Van Hoof, William (Alice) Pierre, Arthur (Lena) Pierre, Cyril (Lillian) Neuville, Albert (Jean) Conard, and Joe Pierre.
    Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at St. Francis and St. Mary Church, Brussels, with the Rev. Pius Cotter officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Forbes Funeral Home and then after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church until time of services. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be offered from www.forbesfuneralhome.com
