    Evelyn Geurts, Bellevue resident, died peacefully on March 20, 2009. Evelyn was born July 9, 1921 in Hollandtown to John and Caroline (Kerkhoff) Verheyen. She married Bernard Geurts on Nov. 16, 1940, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Green Bay. He preceded her in death in 1968. Together, they raised five children. During her lifetime, Evelyn worked a variety of jobs from 1936 through 1981. She was happiest owning and operating The Flamingo Club and Eve's Inn; Adam's Out Tavern from 1969 to 1981. Evelyn always enjoyed knitting, crocheting and many crafts. She loved playing cards and doing puzzles with her grandchildren, and they loved sharing time with her. Evelyn has 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
    Evelyn is survived by her five children, Donna and Ferdinand Smurawa; Donald and Patricia Geurts; Duane and fiancee Cindi; Dale and Annette (Weissbach) Geurts; and Diane Geurts.
    She is also survived by sister and brothers: Florence Gardipee; Mary (Joe) Kunesh; Harold Verheyen; Nola (Fabian) Rentmeester; Clifford (Joanne) Verheyen; Cyril (Mary Verheyen; Delores Verheyen; Darrell Verheyen and fiancee Marjean; sister-in-law, Betty Verheyen and brother-in-law, James Devroy.
    Preceding Evelyn in death were her husband, Bernard; her parents, John and Caroline; brothers, Elmer, Alvin, John Jr., Clayton, Ray; sisters: Deloris, Judy, Juleen; brothers-in-law, Carl Gardipee, Will Lhost and Bernard Scray; sisters-in-law, Lillian, Irene, Patricia, Ardis and Elaine; father-in-law, Arnold Geurts, mother-in-law, Anne Geurts; and daughter-in-law, Karen (Barrette) Geurts.
    In accordance with Evelyn's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. In the near future, Evelyn's children and grandchildren will gather in a celebration of her life. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is handling cremation of her remains.

    Clifford Jacob Verheyen, 80, Allouez, passed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at his home that he built himself. He was born March 15, 1930, in Morrison, Wis., son of the late John and Caroline (Kirkhoff) Verheyen, where he was one of 19 children. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1948. Howard Paper Co. for 38 years; retiring in 1992. He married Joanne Ruth Arcand on May 8, 1954, at Annunciation Catholic Church, Green Bay. Cliff was an avid big game hunter, but mostly moose hunting was his favorite game animal. He had taken many friends, co-workers and brothers to hunt moose in the Pink Mountains of British Columbia. He enjoyed cooking ... booyah, caramel corn, eggrolls were his specialties. He enjoyed fishing, friends and family, and he liked to tinker; there wasn't too many things he couldn't fix. He also had great carpentry skills and had built many things for friends and family. He was a member of the Belleuve VFW Post 9677. Cliff was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many. He has touched the lives of so many and will truly be missed.

    Cletus "Pappy" B. Verheyen, 78, Green Bay resident, died unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, October 15, 2013. He was born on January 23, 1935 in Bellevue to the late John and Caroline (Kerkhoff) Verheyen, where he was one of 19 children. Cletus attended St. Philip grade school. In 1953, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in the Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1957. Cletus was a co-owner of the Rola Rena skating rink for 10 years. He worked at Tape, Inc. and then at Proctor and Gamble as a millwright for over 25 years until his retirement in 1991. He loved playing baseball in his younger years. He was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed building things with his brother, Clayton, and spending time with his sister "Jules." Cletus was a natural salesperson and loved to buy and sell anything from cheese to Girl Scout cookies. Cletus enjoyed cooking booyah and playing cribbage. He was an avid Packers fan and was well known for his jokes and pranks. Cletus was proud of his children and some of his happiest moments were making his grandkids laugh. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
    He is survived by his children, Marcia Verheyen, Greenville; Doug (Debra) Verheyen, Greenville; Brenda (Eric) Trewartha, Oneida; grandchildren, Jake, Michaela, Ethan, Emma, Vinessa and Ella; brothers, Bernie (Elaine) Verheyen; Cyril (Mary) Verheyen; Darrell (fiancé Margene) Verheyen; sisters, Florence Gardipee; Mary (Joe) Kunesh; Nola (Fabian) Rentmeester; Eileen (Lloyd) Sigl; brother-in-law, James Devroy; sisters-in-law, Betty Verheyen and Delores Verheyen; and many nieces and nephews.

    Obituary:
    Clayton A. Verheyen, 68, Suamico, died peacefully, Thursday, May 3, 2007, at a local hospital following a short battle with lung cancer.
    He was born July 13, 1938, in Green Bay, to John and Caroline (Kerkhoff) Verheyen. Clayton served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958.
    On Feb. 20, 1960, Clayton was united in marriage to Delores Nowak at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Green Bay.
    He was employed for 45 years at the Brown County Arena-ShopKo Hall-Resch Center as the building superintendent until his retirement in 2003.
    Clayton pitched softball in a AAA league in the 1960s and 1970s. He enjoyed woodworking and loved working with his tools in the garage. He built many shelves and cabinets for his children and grandchildren and also built a cottage in Lakewood with his sons. Clayton was always there to help whenever they needed him. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish.
    Survivors include his wife, Delores; three children and their spouses, Kathy and Jerry Derenne, Ken and Rachel Verheyen, Bob and Lisa Verheyen, all of Green Bay; six grandchildren, Mitchell, Karisa, Jeremy, Brittany and Cody Verheyen, Samantha Derenne; four step-grandchildren, Jenny Finendale, Alan Derenne, Mary and Jacob Gillis; his close family friends, Sally Soli, Cindy and Scott Tennant; his brothers and sisters, Evelyn Guerts, Florence Gardipee, Mary (Joe) Kunesh, Harold Verheyen, Nola (Fabian) Rentmeester, Cliff (Joanne) Verheyen, Eileen (Lloyd) Sigl, Juleen Scray, Bernard (Elaine) Verheyen, Cletus Verheyen, Raymond (Betty) Verheyen, Cyril (Mary) Verheyen, Darrell Verheyen and his fiancee, Marjean; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty Verheyen, James Devroy, Dan and Karen Nowak, Judy and Anthony Nowak, Ron and Sherry Nowak, Rick and Mary Ann Nowak; many nieces and nephews.

    Cyril H. Verheyen "Bear" March 21, 1943-January 30, 2014. Son of the late John and Caroline (Kerkhoff) Verheyen died at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Cyril graduated from Preble High School in 1961 then proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Cyril also served as an auxiliary Deputy for the Brown County Civil Defense Department. On Aug 6, 1966, Cyril married his true love Mary C. Vanden Langenberg and had two children; Mark A. and Valerie J. Verheyen. In 1976, his entrepreneurial spirit led he, and partners, to build the Twin Cities Roller Dome in Marinette, WI. In 2004, he retired after 35 years of service as a mechanic for Schneider National. Cyril's generosity, creativity and love for building always made him first to help friends and family with projects. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved cooking and travel.
    He is survived by wife Mary and children, Mark (fiancé) Patricia (Dolan), and Valerie Verheyen; sisters Florence Gardipee, Mary Kunesh, Nola (Fabian) Rentmeester, Eileen (Lloyd) Sigl; brothers Bernie (Elaine) Verheyen, Darrell (fiancé Margene) Verheyen; sisters-in-law Nancy, Elizabeth and Delores Verheyen, Marlis (George) Richards, Sandy (Mike) Klimek; brothers-in-law, Earl (Dorothy), Clayton (Betty), Roger (Bonnie), Randall (Cheryl), Keith (Kathy) Vanden Langenberg, and James Devroy as well as many nieces and nephews.
    Cyril was preceded in death by family, Evelyn (Bud Guerts), Elmer, Alvin, Harold (Lil), John Jr., Cliff (Joanne), Juleen (Bernie Scray), Delores, Cletus, Ray, Clayton, and Judy (Devroy) Verheyen; brother-in-law Joe Kunesh, Rodney Vanden Langenberg; and sister-in-law Carmen Kane.
