    The Lord graciously called Vicki Steffens to himself in heaven on Tuesday night, March 10, 2015, following her faith-filled battle with illness at the age of 61. Vicki was born in Appleton on June 25, 1953, daughter of the late Earl Sambs and Carol (Culbertson Sambs) Whitman who still resides in Appleton. Vicki was a graduate of Appleton West High School, and in August of 1973 married Dave Steffens in Kaukauna. Throughout her life, Vicki held a variety of jobs in the area. Important to her, of course, was her church life, and she served as a Sunday School teacher, church secretary, and valued volunteer at church. Those that knew Vicki already know about her love for her precious westies, but what really made Vicki special was her love for her husband and sons. Being a devoted wife and mother was the most important and most loved role she ever filled, and her absence will leave a void for those she leaves behind.
    They include her husband: Dave Steffens of Freedom; her mother: Carol Whitman of Appleton; two sons: Jason (Heather) Steffens of Kaukauna and their daughter Nevaeh and Jesse (Pam) Steffens of Clintonville and their daughter McKenzie; two sisters: Shelley Foster of Appleton and Tammy (Glen) Eichhorn of Oakfield. She was preceded by her father Earl Sambs and her step-father Wendal Whitman.
    The family has invited friends and relatives to gather at the Wichmann Funeral Home Tri County Chapel, 1592 Oneida Street in Menasha on Saturday, March 21, 2015, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at which time a service will be held. Memories may be shared by visiting www.wichmannfargo.com.
    This world's loss is heaven's gain. Vicki's smile and spirit will be missed - forever and for always. -

    Obituary:
    Tammy K Eichhorn, age 58, passed away on Monday, September 25th, 2017 at her home residence in Oakfield WI. Tammy was born March 8th, 1959 in Appleton, WI to Earl and Carol (Whitman) Sambs. She was the youngest of three children.
    Tammy was an accomplished equestrian rider, garnering many awards and winning the reserve world championship. After graduating high school, she attended Patricia Stevens College in Milwaukee, WI earning a degree in Public Relations. She married her husband, Glen Eichhorn on Sept 26, 1981.
    Tammy loved the arts. She served as President of Fond Du Lac Community Theater and starred in numerous productions. She enjoyed decorating, taking care of her beautiful home, spoiling her grandchildren and children, soaking up the sun, bird watching, planting flowers and listening to smooth jazz music. Tammy had a large heart; she will be remembered as a beautiful, caring and fun loving gift from God.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Sambs, her sister, Vicky (Sambs) Steffens and her step-father, Wendal Whitman.
    She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Tammy will be sadly missed by her husband of 36 years, Glen Eichhorn. She is survived by her four children, Erica (Sean) Marcin, Ashley Eichhorn (fiancé Jake Collis), Andrew (Sarah) Eichhorn, Alex Eichhorn (fiancé Brianne Kulick) and two grandchildren, Marlow and Maylee Marcin. She is further survived by her mother, Carol Whitman; one sister, Shelley Foster; two sisters-in-law, Nancy (Charles) Lenius and Rosemarie Brunner; three brothers-in-law, David Steffens, Wayne (Bev) Eichhorn and Richard (Judy) Eichhorn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, along with her loved pets, Rowdy and Telley.
    A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac WI 54935. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.
