Obituary:
Wierschke, Geraldine Early Monday morning, July 25, God summoned home to Heaven, the soul of Geraldine (Gerry) Wierschke at the age of 86. In her death as in her life, she reflected her faith in Jesus as her Lord. The message she leaves with family and friends is as follows: "My dear loved ones, I lived in grace and died in grace. There is no more beautiful sound than the word GRACE. Jesus gave his life so that I could be saved by grace. In your life let it be obvious that you are God's child. May the purpose of your life be to share the message of God's grace in Christ Jesus in every way that you can".
Geraldine is survived by Donald, her husband of 66 years; six children: Barry (Judy) Wierschke, Milwaukee; Carol (Wayne) Nielson, Brighton, MI; Betty Schmidt, Wrightstown; Patricia (Bernie) Vickman, Wrightstown; James Wierschke, De Pere; and Dave Wierschke, De Pere; seventeen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Betty Greening, Appleton; and Bernice Klister, Wrightstown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her five brothers; and three sisters. Geraldine is the last of her generation.
She enjoyed working side by side with her husband in all manner of the farming business. She was a member of St. John's Choir and Ladies Aid and faithfully served her church. In her latter years she enjoyed golfing and watching the Brewers. She cherished all kinds of gatherings with family and friends, and she took great joy in the birth of any new member of the family. Gerry regarded her family and friends as blessings from God above.
Family and friends may call Thursday, July 28, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Wrightstown. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Matthew Vik officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
