    Martin J. (Marty) Liebergen, 82, Howard, died as a result of an auto pedes trian accident on Monday, July 29, 2002 in the Village of Howard.The family will receive friends at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home West, 11 45 Cardinal Lane, Howard, on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 4 until 8 p.m. Visitat ion continues after 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, at the funeral home until t he cortege leaves for church. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Frid ay at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Howard, with Rev. William Swic htenberg officiating. Andrew J. Pfotenhauer, Funeral Director. A comple te obituary will appear in Thursday's newspaper.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral ho me in Marty's name.

    Martin J. "Marty'' Liebergen, 82, Howard, died as a result of an auto pede strian accident on Monday, July 29, 2002 in the Village of Howard. Marty w as born on November 15, 1919, to George and Mary (Ferrier) Liebergen in Gr een Bay. He was a life-long resident of the area. On May 24, 1941, Marty m arried the former Eileen A. Mercier at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Gre en Bay. She preceded him in death on February 14, 1999. He served in t he US Army during World War II in the American European theater, Infantr y, in General Patten's 3rd Army 89th Division and received the Bronze Sta r. Marty was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Howard V FW Post #7534, of which he was a past Commander, NARFE Association, Concer ned Hearts, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, Council #163, and 4th Degre e, St. Jude Assembly Honor Guard. He also volunteered at the critical ca re desk at Bellin Hospital and was a Red Cross driver. Marty worked at t he Green Bay Post Office for 35 years, retiring as Examination Speciali st in 1981.Marty is survived by his children: David M. and Susan K. Liebergen, Suamic o; Barbara A. and Bob Krause, Georgia; Susan E. Liebergen and Paul G. Lieb ergen, both of Green Bay; grandchildren: Scott D. and daughter Hayden; Jo dy L. and Aaron Shaha, Maryland, and Matthew D. Liebergen; Shelly Diederi ch Bowden and husband Toby, Georgia; Gerald and Shelley Diederich and chil dren, Nathan and Ryan, Georgia; Shawn and Jessica Diederich and son Etha n, Green Bay; two sisters, Marian and Cletus Shauer, and Carol and Earl St one, all of Green Bay; one brother, John James and Mary Ellen Liebergen, G reen Bay.     On Friday, December 21, 2012, John James "Jim" Liebergen, 78, went home to be with his wife Mary Ellen for Christmas. He was born October 6, 1934 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, son of the late George and Mary (Ferrier) Liebergen. Jim graduated from Green Bay Catholic Central High School, Class of 1953. On May 23, 1959 Jim married Mary Ellen (Pensis) at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay.
    Jim served in the 32nd Division National Guard with an honorable discharged in 1962. He was employed at Schreiber Foods for 46 years. . Jim was a lifetime member of the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, serving as an usher for 35 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Retired Men's club, AARP and the Green Bay Dart ball league. After retiring he worked at the Allouez voting site. For over 40 years, Jim sold programs at the Packer Home Games.
    Jim and Mary Ellen enjoyed fishing and the outdoors at their summer place in Woodruff., WI, for 31 years. He also was an avid card player, he enjoyed crafts, and his specialty was making winter stocking hats which he shared with family and friends.
    Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay (Deacon James) Barth, Thurmont, MD; and Laura (Ted) Rodriguez, West Point, VA; four grandchildren, Hillary (Micah) Puccino, Benito Rodriguez, Hannah Barth, and Noah Barth; two great-grandchildren, James Puccino, Aaliyah Puccino; sisters, Marion Schauer and Carol Stone; special friends, Barbara and Larry Kohl and Gary and Ann Northway; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen three brothers, Martin J., Bernard D., and Bernard F., a sister-in-law, Eileen Liebergen; brothers-in-law Earl Stone and Cletus Schauer.
    Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street on Friday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Parish wake service 7 pm at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, 140 S. Monroe Ave. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. with Rev. John Girotti officiating and Deacon James Barth assisting. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolences may be sent to the Liebergen family at www.prokowall.com.
    Thanks to the dedicated staff of St. Vincent's six floor CCU our family was given the opportunity to say our goodbyes. Also a thank you to Nancy at MCHS East one of dad's favorite nurses.

    Liebergen, DavidDavid Liebergen, 59, Suamico, has gone home to the heavenly Father on Satu rday evening, April 24, 2004, following a brief illness. He was born on Ju ne 27, 1944, in Green Bay to the late Martin and Eileen (Mercier) Lieberge n. He served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 1964 to Jan. 1967 in Germany. He w as a specialist assigned to the 124th Dental Unit. On Feb. 3rd, 1968, he m arried the former Susan K. Staszak at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Churc h, the first wedding in the church. David was employed by Georgia-Pacif ic West (formerly Fort Howard Paper Co.) for 37 years. He was a memb er of Sts. Edward & Isidore Catholic Church. He was formerly an assista nt Little League coach, Cub Scout leader, assistant scout leader and commi ttee chairman for Troup 1563 of Ashwaubenon for 20 years and advancement c hairman for Troup 1107 for the past five years. David co-chaired the fir st Nativity Church Thanksgiving dinner, worked with outreach delivering fo od to the needy, worked on the Family Life committee and ran the governme nt cheese program. He loved fishing, and especially hunting at his friend' s, (Darrell Heling) land. He collected models for many years. David devot ed his time to his wife and family, the most important part of his lif e. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Susan K. Liebergen; three childre n: Scott (fiance, Leah Smith), Green Bay, Jody (Aaron) Shaha, Sykesvill e, MD, and Matt, Green Bay; and one granddaughter, Hayden Weininger; two s isters: Barbara (Robert) Krause, Greenville, Ga., and Susan E. Lieberge n, Green Bay; one brother, Paul Liebergen, Green Bay; mother-in-law: Ru th Staszak, Ashwaubenon; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends .In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-la w, Joseph Staszek.Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Lyndahl Fune ral Home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Rd., where a parish wake service wi ll be held at 7:45 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Wednesd ay at Sts.
