Obituary:
Ervin C. Doxtater, 83, Oneida, died Aug. 5, 2007. He was born Sept. 26, 1923, in Oneida, to the late Charles and Hilda (Denny) Doxtater. He married the former Jeanette Skenandore. Ervin was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Europe during World War II, and seeing action at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge, among other places. He was a member of the Robert Cornelius Post 7784 of the VFW of Oneida. He was recently honored at the Oneida Pow Wow for his service as a veteran. He retired from the trucking industry in Chicago.
His children, Marion, Richard, and Virgil, his grandchildren, his brother, Gordon, and sister, Verna, and a very special niece, Beverly Allen survive him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette, and his son, Arnold.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church, Oneida, until the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. with Fr. Wilson Roane, and Deacons Edmund Powless, and Deborah Heckel officiating. Full military rites to follow at the parish cemetery.
