    Obituary:
    Nancy Carol McGuire, 71, a lifelong resident of Green Bay, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at a local hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 23, 1935, in Green Bay to William and Dorothy (Stiller) DeWitt. Nancy was a graduate of Green Bay West High School. Following high school she worked as a nurse's aide at Bellin Hospital until she met her husband, Bill McGuire. They married on May 11, 1957, at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Nancy was a devoted and loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas, perch fishing with her husband Bill, going to the casino, spending time with her grandchildren and spoiling them, feeding the squirrels, making puzzles, and watching the Green Bay Packers, especially Brett Favre. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Steve and Becky McGuire, Howard; Daniel and Lisa McGuire, Henderson, Nev.; Jeanne and Jim Kerr, Sun Prairie; Kenneth McGuire, Las Vegas, Nev.; her four grandchildren, Alena and Raymond McGuire, Austin and Samuel Kerr; her mother, Dorothy Larson, Green Bay; her two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Glen Larsen, Denmark; Wendy and Jim Zimmerman, Wooster, Ohio; her brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Debora Larson, Winter Springs, Fla.; her extended family, Doug and Sue Piontek, Louise and Dick DeBoth, Ed and Lisa Piontek; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill McGuire; her father, William DeWitt; her brother, Raymond; her paternal grandmother, "Grandma DeWitt"; her uncle and aunt, Henry and Jane Piontek; and Frank Piontek. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., on Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friends may also call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth Street, on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. Nancy's family extends a sincere word of thanks to Dr. Green and his nurse Arlene for their compassionate care and concern for Nancy's well-being. They also wish to thank Dr. Pukel of Aurora Bay Care Medical Center . A special thank you goes to her friend and neighbor Andy, for watching over her and keeping her company. Nancy's family would like to thank her friends and family for showing all their love, concern, the visits and support over the last year through this difficult time for her and her family. We as a family would like to state our admiration for Nancy's strength, positive attitude, and for trying to fight through her illness with grace.
