    Obituary:
    Johnson, Ernest D. "Ernie"
Ernest D. "Ernie" Johnson, 83, passed away May 7, 2007, at home in Boulder Junction. Ernie was born June 25, 1923, in Neenah, son of Ernest and Matilda Johnson of Neenah. He married Mildred Clough in Dec. 28, 1947. She preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 1984.
Ernie proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II, and then went to college in Chicago, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering Degree on March 25, 1949. He worked many years at Christopf OK Lumber in Neenah and then Seymour Lumber in Seymour, until his retirement. In Boulder Junction, he was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Lion's Club. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10893 in Neenah. He loved to give his time and talents to various organizations. When someone needed help, Ernie was there to lend a helping hand.
Some of the recognitions and positions he held were, Seymour Kiwanis Club President 1980-1981, where he received the "Outstanding Club Leadership Award"; the Boulder Junction Outstanding Citizen of the year award (1995); the "Birch Sturm Award," which is given "in recognition of unselfish dedication to the humanitarian projects of the Wisconsin Lions Foundation"; the "Melvin Jones Fellow Award" which is given for "dedicated humanitarian service" to "Lions International Foundation." Ernie was Sunshine Secretary for the Lions Club for the past seven years. He was also a permanent fixture at Trout Lake every year for the annual Musky Classic. Ernie was a devoted Green Bay Packer and Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed playing cribbage, pool and horseshoes; and also loved to hunt and fish.
His son, Steve I. and his wife, Kathy, Neenah; his grandchildren, Richard, Neenah; Stephanie, Milwaukee; Andy, Neenah and his faithful companion to the end, Casey, survive Ernie. He is further survived by his sister, Betty (Bob) Gintner, Neenah; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Hazen (Mary) Clough, Boulder Junction; Deanne (James) Turner, Neenah; Leah Sokel, Menasha; Herschel (Cathe) Clough, Neenah; Darrell (Betty) Clough, Boulder Junction; Beth Robinson, Sayner; Lynn (Barbara) Clough, Pahrump, Nev.; Kathy (Dale) Peterson, St Germaine; Mary (Orin) Sayner, Sayner; Florence Johnson, Neenah, and numerous nieces and nephews.
His brothers, Ronald and Richard, and sister, Dorothy Zachow, also preceded him in death.
A special thank you to Betty and Darrell Clough and Hospice for taking such good care of Dad during his last days and making it possible for him to pass away in the house that he and his wife, Millie, built. Also a special thank you to the Lions Club of Larsen/Winchester for their donations, which helped make Ernie more comfortable at his home.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boulder Junction, with the Rev. D.J. Dominkowski officiating. Visitation with the Family will be one hour prior to the Service. We know that Dad will now rest eternally with his best fishing partner that he has missed for 22 years, his loving wife, Millie.
