Obituary:
John F. Kottke Sr., age 59, of Larsen passed away on Wednesday morning, September 20, 2017 at his home, following a lengthy illness. He was born on October 26, 1957 in Neenah, Wisconsin son of the late Ben and Issie Kottke. John graduated from high school in Colorado in 1976, after which he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a tank commander and NCO Academy participant. On May 5, 1990 John married Susie Remmel at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Neenah. John was employed by Wisconsin Tissue Mills for several years, then went on to be an owner/operator, over-the-road truck driver for 26 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, golfing, and riding his Harley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Susie; children: John Jr., Larsen; Amy (Kevin) Gilliam, Appleton; Jennifer (sp. friend Justin) Kottke, Montana; 10 grandchildren; brothers: Dave (Joyce) Kottke, Menasha; Jim Kottke, Neenah; sisters: Laurie Davis, Neenah; Sandy (Ron Pitt) Kottke, Neenah. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Ben; father-in-law Don Remmel; brother-in-law, Paul Remmel.
A Time of Sharing for John will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of sharing. Following the time of sharing at the funeral home, a Memorial Gathering will be held at Lucky Dogz, 157 Green Bay Road, Neenah at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in John's name.
