    Obituary:
    Robert J. Boehm, 87, Green Bay, died at his home on July 13, 2008. Born on Aug. 26, 1920, in Chippewa County, he is the son of the late Leo and Anna (Bleskacek) Boehm. Robert entered the United States Air Force July 7, 1940. One year later, World War II started and he was sent overseas to England, France, and Germany. After World War II, he came home to Chippewa County as a Lieutenant Colonel. He married Alice D. Smith, a WAVE in the United States Navy, on Jan. 7, 1946. She preceded him in death on Sept. 10, 1996. Both returned to service after their marriage and were released one year later. They returned to Wisconsin and enrolled at the University of Wisconsin at Stout. Alice received her Bachelors degree in Home Economics, and Robert in Industrial Arts. In addition, Robert was awarded his Masters degree two years later. He taught Industrial Arts in Thorp, Wis., for two years. In 1955, Robert was hired by Preble High School, and remained there until his retirement in 1982. He remained in the United States Air Force reserve for over 20 years. As a teacher Robert was loved for his generous and fun-loving nature. His life was built on goals and dreams. Robert enjoyed people, building projects, fishing, entertaining, and family reunions.
    Robert is survived by two daughters, Kitty (Larry) Vander Kelen, Oconto; Ann Marie (Ronald) Verlare, Francis Creek; three grandchildren, Wendy (Joe) Tritz, Laura Vander Kelen, Evan (Merranda) Vander Kelen; 12 great-grandchildren; and beloved canine companion, Samantha.
    Robert was preceded in death by his wife; one brother, Clarence Boehm; and parents.
    Visitation at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird St., Thursday from 12 (noon) p.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral 3 p.m. Thursday at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
    The family would like to extend a special thanks to Berdie and Leon Stephenson, Officer Joseph Hoyer and the entire Green Bay Police Department. They would also like to thank caregivers Roger Eastman and Vickie Wauters, the Aging Resource and Disability Center, Unity Hospice, and Dr. Ferdinand Casis, for their compassionate care.
    A memorial fund has been set up at the funeral home.
