Obituary:
Ella E. Zink, 88, Town of Rushford, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh after a brief illness. She was born September 21, 1920, in Oshkosh to the late Albert and Elsie (Miller) Koplitz. On October 8, 1938 Ella married Orville Zink and they farmed in the Town of Rushford until 1964. Orville preceded Ella in death on December 11, 1978. She was lifetime member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Oshkosh, had been a volunteer at the Berlin Hospital, and attended regular Thursday meetings of the "Kroweldeen" club. Ella also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, polka dancing, and since the 1950's was active in a bowling league which, until recently, she was presently doing. But her true love was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ella is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Bert Jonely, Menasha; one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Yvonne Zink, Omro; grandchildren, Karen and Corey McMullin, Omro; Michael and Jeanne Jonely, Whitewater; Dianne and Paul Rosenthal, Omro; great-grandchildren, Jake and Kyle McMullin, Trent Rosenthal; a special friend, Arlene Gade; and nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A Funeral Service for Ella will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1306 Michigan St. Oshkosh, with Pastor Linda Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in the Borth Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, January 13 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, and will continue on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11.
A memorial fund for Emmanuel United Church of Christ has been established.
Ella's family wishes to thank the Mercy Medical I.C.U. doctors and nurses, and Chaplain DeWitt for all of the care given to her and support for their family.
