Obituary:
Mrs. Mary Nitschke, 82, an aged resident of Appleton and one of the organizers of St. Joseph parish, died Sunday morning at her home at 319 E. Harris-st. Mrs. Nitschke, who was born on the ocean on June 21, 1847, while her parents were on their way from Germany to America. She was married to August Nitschke, who died 13 years ago.
Survivors are one daughter, Oliva; two sons, Oscar W. and Walter B., at home; one sister, Mrs. Katherine Schmitz, Waupaca; one brother, Valentino Ostertag, Oshkosh. Mrs. Nitschke was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and of the Christian Mothers society of St. Joseph church. The body was transfered from the Schommer Funeral home to the residence Monday after noon. The funeral will be held from the home at 8:30 Wednesday morning, with services at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph church. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

August (son of Nitschke, Ernest and Unknown, Hermine) was born 13 Dec 1841, Parchwitz, Silesia, Germany; died Abt 1917, Appleton, Outagamie, Wisconsin, USA; was buried , St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton, Wisconsin, USA.
