    Obituary:
Barbara Jean Fermanich age 60, died peacefully at her home on Friday, February 11, 2011, with her family at her side. Barbara was born May 4, 1950, the daughter of Walter and Matie (Standke) Blank in New London, Wisconsin. She began her career in floral designing at Gabriel's Floral in New London. Barbara was a gifted floral designer with her own unique style. She owned several floral shops, most recently the original Branching Out on College Avenue. Barbara was a very creative, sensitive and caring woman and most of her customers considered her a friend. Barbara was a collector of beautiful objects and enjoyed sharing her finds with family and friends as well as making her home a beautiful and welcoming place to visit. When Barbara wasn't out making the world a more beautiful place, she would visit the places she considered beautiful. She travelled to many cities throughout the U.S. and Europe, but the one place she considered her second home was Hawaii. She visited the islands every chance she got and loved the tropical flowers there. Lastly, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She took them on many special trips including the circus and the zoo and passed on to them her love of reading.
Barbara is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Stephanie (Thomas) Caimotto, Royal Oak, MI; Daniela Callan, Cleveland, OH; two grandchildren, Dominick and Sarah Caimotto, her parents, Walter and Matie Blank, Sr., New London, WI; three sisters and a brother, Sally Duffin, MI; Diana (Marvin) Hoagland, New London, WI; Walter (Debbie) Blank, Jr., New London, WI; and Debbie (Les) Reed, Appleton; several nephews, other relatives, friends and a special friend, James Lindgren, New London, WI.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Brendan Callan.
A memorial gathering for friends and relatives will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Holiday Inn, 150 Nicolet Road, Appleton from 2-5 p.m. A memorial fund is being established in Barbara's name.
A Special thank you from the family of Barbara, to all her friends for their love and support. The family would also like to thank Dr. Goggins and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital Oncology Department for the wonderful care she received there. Also thanks to the staff of Affinity Hospice for making Barbara's last days at home with her family possible and Preferred Home Health Care for providing excellent care as well. Barbara also wanted to thank all of her loyal customers who made it possible for her to have a career doing what she loved to do.
