Kaphingst, Beverly A. (nee Johnson)
Beverly Ann Kaphingst, 76, Menasha, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Peabody Manor, Appleton, with her daughters by her side. She was born on Oct. 28, 1934, in Appleton, daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie (Meyer) Johnson. On Feb. 14, 1970, she was united in marriage to Robert "Chip" Kaphingst. Robert preceded her in death in 1995.
Beverly loved embroidering, butterflies, birds and the color purple. She also enjoyed entertaining, throwing parties and watching the Food Channel and "Days of Our Lives". Beverly was very involved with many deaf groups/clubs and loved helping others with hearing limitations. She worked for many years and retired from Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center, Menasha.
Loving mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her children, Judy (Steve) Wadel, Appleton; Sandy (Mike Smaxwell) Prinsen, Menasha; and David (Sue) Prinsen, Menasha; grandchildren, Travis Wadel, Justin (Anisa) Wadel, Michael Smolinski and Shannon (Matt) Drake; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Wadel, Savannah, Shawn, Saharah and a great-grandson on the way; sister-in-law, Nancy Johnson; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny Prinsen; brothers, Robert and Kenneth Johnson; a sister, Jean Heegeman; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence (Eunice) Kaphingst.
A memorial service for Beverly will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at 6 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m.
A memorial fund is being established in her name.
She will be deeply missed and loved by everyone.
Beverly's family would like to say a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staffs of Peabody Manor and Fresenius Dialysis, Neenah, Dr. Ahmad and Dr. Sousek, the helpful team at Shopko Pharmacy, Menasha, the van drivers at Running, Inc. (Valley Transit) and especially to her "other daughter", Barb Romnek, and her longtime friend, Margie Hill. Thank you all for your outstanding care and compassion.
Mom, thank you for helping to ease our pain while heading on your new journey painfree. You are now free to dance with the butterflies and birds.
