    Gen Behrent, 84, Appleton, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, August 4, 2008. She was born in Appleton on January 25, 1924, the daughter of the late William and Bertha (Grube) Roocks. She married Edwin B. Behrent "Bud" on October 23, 1942, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1977.
    Gen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 80 years. As a young woman, Gen worked for Geenen's Department Store, Appleton. Gen enjoyed playing cards and dancing with her sister and friend, Loma Jury. Gen also cherished the time spent with her precious grandchildren. She took pride in playing the organ beautifully.
    Survivors include two sons and their families: William E. Behrent and his wife Patricia L., Appleton, and their children: Cheryl L. (Jason) Steeves, New Richmond, WI, Bryan W. Behrent, Appleton, and Gary W. Behrent, Milwaukee; two great-grandchildren, Annie J. Steeves and Joseph N. Steeves, St. Paul, MN; son, Michael E. Behrent and his wife Denise, Appleton, and their daughters, Nichole and Heather M. Behrent, Appleton; her brother, Stanley (Delores) Roocks, Appleton; her brother-in-law, Lawrence (Betty) Behrent; and two sisters-in-law: Margaret (Stanley) Rice and Helen (Ray) Bartkowiak. Gen is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
    Gen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers: Erwin (Ruth) Roocks and infant brother Stanford Roocks; her sister, Loma (Hugh) Jury; and her sisters-in-law: Celia Weils and Ruth (Erwin) Roocks.
    Funeral services for Gen will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008, at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH ELCA, 209 S. Allen St., with Revs. Kurt and Mary Beth Kovanen officiating. Interment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. at the church until service time.
    Gen's family would like to thank all caregivers for their care and love shown Gen during her stay at Brewster Village. God Bless you all.

    Stanley W. Roocks, Appleton, age 80, passed away peacefully at ThedaCare Hospice Residence after a year long battle with cancer on Thursday, September 22, 2011. He was born in Appleton on August 16, 1931 the son of the late William and Bertha (Grube) Roocks. Stan served his country in the Army with the 40th division in Korea from 1952-1953. He married Delores Berkhahn on July 18, 1959 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Appleton. Stan worked at Asten Johnson, formerly Wisconsin Wires, for 45 years.
    Stan is survived by his wife of 52 years, Delores; daughter, Karen Roocks and her fiancé, Don Bromeland of Hortonville; daughter-in-law, Connie Roocks and her son, Brett Luedtke of Menasha; brothers-in-law: Earl (Kathy) Berkhahn of New London and Ervin Samp of Shawano; sisters-in-law: Gladys Berkhahn of Bonduel and Delores Berkhahn of Cecil; and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by parents; son, Robert; infant twin brother, Stanford; brother, Ervin (Ruth); sisters: Loma (Hugh) Jury and Gen (Edwin) Behrent; father and mother-in-law, John and Ida (Marohl) Berkhahn; brothers-in-law: Hilbert (Margaret) Harvey, Edward (Sylvia) Marvin (Dorothy) and George Berkhahn; and sisters-in-law: Erma (Arno) Pitt and Bernice Samp.
    The memorial service will be at 12 p.m. on Tuesday September 27, 2011 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, with Rev. Mark Geisthardt officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
    The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Martha Siekman Center at Appleton Medical Center and the staff at ThedaCare Hospice for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Stan's name is being established.
