    Wilbur R. "Willy" Westphal, 84, Appleton, died Sunday morning Sept. 2, 2007. He was born on March 28, 1923, in Oshkosh to Fredrick and Wilhelmina (Hedtke) Westphal. Willy married Mary Ann Matte on June 25, 1949, in Oshkosh. Willy was employed by Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Neenah Plant, as a trimmer operator until his retirement in January of 1986. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corp in England during World War II. Willy was a member of Oshkosh American Legion Post. He enjoyed time spent traveling, camping, card playing, and car shows.
    Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Westphal, Appleton; two sons, Mike Westphal, Appleton, and Matthew (Alice) Westphal, Neenah; three grandchildren, Richard Westphal, New London; Ashley and Ryan Westphal, Neenah; a great-granddaughter, Brianna; four sisters-in-law, Delores Atkson, Florence (Gale) Harrington, Helen Howard, and Lucille Marinello; one brother-in-law, Jesse Marinello; and nieces and nephews.
    Preceding Willy in death are his parents; eight brothers, Harold, Earl, Harvey, Norman, Roy, Howard, Carlton, and Alvin; and two sisters, Eva Curtis and Dorothy Borchard.
    Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at 1 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. Entombment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park Mausoleum. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Thursday from 11 to 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorials in Willy's name are requested to American Heart Association or to American Cancer Society.
