Obituary:
Lorrey Jo Ciske, 71, of Appleton passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Wednesday June 22, 2016. She was born in Appleton on July 21, 1944, daughter of Gordon and Alice (Baker) Schiesser. Lorrey married Ronald Ciske on September 5, 1964. Ronald preceded her in death on March 10, 1980.
Lorrey was a 25 year breast cancer survivor. She was a mentor and friend to others who were also going through breast cancer. Lorrey also volunteered her time at the Appleton Hearthstone Historic House Museum. She also enjoyed dancing and watching Judge Judy. Her greatest joy came from the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lorrey is survived by her mother: Alice, Dale; her three children: Daniel Ciske(special friend, Donna Bushman), Christine (Scott) Miller, Indiana, and Michael (Michelle) Ciske, Appleton; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her six brothers and sisters: Lloyd (Joan) Schiesser, Anita (Richard) Slone, Raymond (Judy) Schiesser, Beverly (Ed) Schiesser-Marshall, Elaine Garza, and Jannis (Bruce) Pedersen; She was further preceded in death by her father, Gordon; sister in-law, Donna Schiesser; and brother in-law, Jim Ciske.
Funeral service for Lorrey will be 6:00 PM on Monday June 27, 2016 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday afternoon beginning at 4:00 PM until the hour of service. Burial will be at Dale Union Cemetery.
Lorrey's family would like to extend a very special thank you to her ThedaCare Regional Cancer Center Oncology team, and also to Dr. John Ganser, for all of their care and compassion.
