    At a dancing party and baquet held at Antigo on Tuesday evening under the auspicies of the ladies auxillary of B. of L. F. & E. at which times members of (same) who servered in World's War were presented with a silver medal from th eGrand Lodge with the following inscription on it"Presented to Grand Lodge to Members, In Grateful Recognition of a Duty Well and Cheerfully performed".
    The members of the organization who served their country attended the banquet in uniform representing the branch of service he was in. The following young men from Kaukauna : Walton Cooper, C. J. Somers, H. H. Wilpolt, Dan Burns and George Kobussen.

    Kobussen, Merlin G., AppletonAge 73, passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2004 at the Appleton Medical Center f ollowing a lengthy battle with diabetes and heart disease. Merlin was bo rn in Kaukauna on May 12, 1930, son of the late George and Grace (Kibby) K obussen. On November 30, 1952 he married the former Audrey Nieman in Apple ton; she survives. After many years of meat sales, Merlin retired and volu nteered at the local chapter of the American Red Cross, where he was the c hairman of the Disaster Team. He was very proud to have been a bus driv er for Lamers Bus Lines for several years.Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Audrey Kobussen of Appleto n; three sons: Anthony (Kathy) Kobussen of Oconomowoc; Neal (Judy) Kobuss en of Raleigh, North Carolina; and Mitch (Ginger) Kobussen of Black Cree k; a daughter-in-law, Lisa (Tom) Schultz of Neenah; eight grandchildren, S ara and Stephani Kobussen, Keri and Kimberly Kobussen Morgan, Jacob, Emil y, and Sophie Schultz; a great-grandson, Tyler Kobussen; a brother-in-la w, Rudolph (Caroline) Nieman; a sister-in-law, Agnes Nieman; as we ll as by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Glenn, a brother-in-law She ldon Nieman, and a sister-in-law Lusetta (Eldred) Tellock.Funeral services for Merlin will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 2 3, 2004 at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 S. Mason Street in Applet on with Rev. Jeffrey Verbeke and Rev. Paul Schuler officiating. Friends m ay call at the funeral home on Sunday (TODAY) from 4 - 8 p.m. and again Mo nday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.The family would like to thank the staff on the 4th floor at the Applet on Medical Center, as well as to Dr. McKee and to Dr. Vogt for the lovi ng care and compassion you showed Merlin and his family.
