    Myrtle Palmbach, 83, Appleton, passed away on October 6, 2014. Myrtle was born on October 27, 1930 in Apple Creek Wisconsin to the late Harvey and Mathilda (Uhlenbrauck) Schroeder. She was a 1948 graduate of Appleton High School. On December 17, 1949 she married her high school sweetheart, Clement L Palmbach and he preceded her in death on June 11, 2003. Myrtle's most important job was raising her family. In addition to being a wife and mother, she was a member of the AMC Hospital Auxiliary, St. Paul Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and was an active volunteer with the Lutheran Pioneers. She loved to play cards, travel with Clem, raise Shelties and Collies and was well known for having the best chocolate chip cookies Myrtle will be sadly missed by: children John (Tara) Palmbach and James (Linda) Palmbach; grandchildren: John (special friend Mallory Killian), Jo Lynn, Andrew, Kathleen and Mark Palmbach, Nick (special friend Tiffany Roman) Lucas and Kim (Josh) Hill; great-grandchildren, Kelly and Jordy Hill as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clem, daughter Jane Gibbons and a sister Naomi (Carl) Krueger. Funeral Services will be on Saturday October 11, 2014 at 10:30 am at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 North Morrison Street, Appleton, with Rev. Peter Walther officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again directly at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. The family would like to thank the staff of Appleton Retirement Community and Heritage Woods Hospice Residence for the care given to Myrtle. A special thank you to all Myrtle's neighbors, especially Dick and Donna Kilsdonk who always helped her out. Without you, she could never have stayed home as long as she did.
