    Obituary:
    Sherwood – Michael J. Kiefer, 73, a widely known business man here, died Friday noon, April 20. Death was due to pneumonia from which he had been ill 11 days. It was thought that he had passed the crisis of the disease and was on the way to recovery when a sudden relapse set in.
    Mr. Kiefer was born in Menominee Falls, Wis. Following his marriage, he took his brief to Stockbridge where they settled on a farm on which they lived for 19 years. They then moved to the Village of Stockbridge where Mr. Kiefer was in business 11 years. They moved to Sherwood 18 years ago and have since conducted a hotel and tavern here.
    Mr. Kiefer is survived by his wife, and five children, one son, John of Forest Junction; four daughters, Mrs. Louis Dorn, Harrison; Mrs. Nick Janty, Stockbridge; Mrs. Roman Fels, Sherwood; and Miss Mary of Forest Junction; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Behnke, Chicago; Mrs. D. Gollner of Pewaukee.
    The funeral was held Monday at Sacred heart church, Rev. A. Jaeckle officiating. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Stockbridge, Rev. M. Gonnering, pastor of St. Mary's church, Stockbridge, officiating.

    Lucille C. "Toots" Olson, age 92, of Sherwood, formerly of the Stockbridge area, died on Thursday, September 20, 2007, at the home of her daughter in Sherwood, with her family by her side, following a 7-year battle with cancer. She was born March 2, 1915, in the Town of Stockbridge daughter of the late Louis and Katherine (Kiefer) Dorn. She married Maurice "Mickey" Olson on August 1, 1933, in Stockbridge; he preceded her in death on October 3, 1964. Lucille worked at Tecumseh Products until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of the St. Mary's Tri-Parish of Hilbert, Stockbridge and Sherwood. She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, watching the birds and playing cards with her friends at Hilbert Manor.
    Survivors include her nine children: Genevieve (Don) Brown, Merced, CA; Neil (Mary Ann) Olson, Stockbridge; Rosie (Don) Williams, St. Nazianz; Michael Wayne (Bev) Olson, Sherwood; Carol (Mike) Michiels, Marinette; Jo (Greg) Redlin, Sherwood; Skip (Janice) Olson, Hilbert; Keith (Kay) Olson, Hilbert; Chris (Rick) Nagan, Greenleaf; 29 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; a brother Louis (Gennie) Dorn, De Pere; two sisters-in-law: Marlyn Dorn, Hilbert; LaVonna Olson, Menasha; numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was also preceded in death by a son Kim, two grandsons: Kevin Olson, David Olson, and a great-grandson, Alex Nett.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge, with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep and Deacon Jim Olson officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church in Stockbridge on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in the name of Lucille Olson. Wieting Family Funeral Home of Chilton is assisting the family.
    Special thanks to Dr. Thomas & his staff of UW Madison, Dr. Goggins & his staff of Fox Valley Hematology, and the Calumet County Hospice program, especially to Sharon Schmidt, for all of the care that was given to Lucille during her illness.
