    Obituary:
    Norbert C. "Nubbs" Roeland, Menasha, 84, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Appleton. Nubbs was born on Dec. 12, 1923, in Appleton. He is the son of the late Herbert and Priscilla (Brzycki) Roeland. He was united in Marriage to Ruth Hogan on July 10, 1948, in Marquette, Mich. She preceded him in death on June 10, 1992. Nubbs was in the United States Navy, active in World War II. He worked for many years at the John Strange Paper Company/ Menasha Corp, and retired in 1983. Nubbs was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and enjoyed golf, sheepshead, gardening and spending winters in Florida. He was an avid Packers Fan.
    He is survived by his children, Debra (Michael) Sadowski, Franklin; Dyann (Robert) Abel, Menasha; and Mickey (Barb) Roeland, Menasha; nine grandchildren, Andy (Vicki) Sadowski, Dan (Jennifer) Sadowski, Sara (Andrew) Pforr, Elizabeth Abel, David (Deb Stronach) Abel, Thomas Abel, Jessica Abel, Steven (Gina Patovisti) Roeland and Patrick Roeland; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Peter and Anna, Ashley and Chloe, Addy and Jonah. He is further survived by his close friend, Linda Bradley and her family; his aunt, Anna Roeland; sister-in-law, Beatrice Ombrello; brother-in-law, Paul Hogan and many nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Menasha, 11 a.m., with Father Larry Canavera officiating.
    Visitation will be held at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service being held at 7 p.m., and again on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
