    Hopfensperger, Lucille A. (nee Krabbe) - Lucille A. Hopfensperger, found peace in God's arms on January 15, 2009. Born on June 4, 1914, to Reinhold and Augusta Krabbe, Lucille was a lifelong resident of Appleton. Following graduation, she started working at Hopfensperger Bros. Inc. where she met and fell in love with Andrew Hopfensperger. They married on December 7, 1942, and shared forty six years until his death on May 18, 1989.
    Lucille was a charter member of the Appleton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a life member of Fidelity Chapter-Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Chalice Circle of King's Daughters. She belonged to the Appleton Women's Club and was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
    She was an avid bridge player. Lucille enjoyed traveling to Europe, Mexico, Florida, and other destinations in the United States. She loved frequent trips to the north woods where she went deer hunting with her family. Her shooting accuracy earned her the nickname of "One Shot Lucy."
    She is survived by her three children: Patricia (Bill) Reis, DeForest; Jolene (Roger) Kussmann, Eagle; Andrew (Roseann) Hopfensperger, Clintonville; and a step-daughter Audrey Morgan, Seattle, WA. Lucille was the loving, proud grandmother of Amber, Heather, Erin, Nathan, Mican, and Andy, Jr. Further survived by her six precious great-grandchildren.
    Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Andrew, brothers: Clarence, Ralph, Alvin, and Les Krabbe, her sister Dorothy Myre, several nephews and a niece.
    The visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 209 S. Allen Street, Appleton, from 10 until the time of service at 12 noon. The Revs. Kurt and Mary Beth Kovanen will be officiating. Burial at Highland Memorial Park. A memorial fund has been established.

    Appleton - Elaine D. Krueger, died April 14, 2018, after a battle with Alzheimer's Disease with her family by her side at Comforts of Home Memory Care in St Croix Falls. She was born in Menasha on March 19, 1928, to the late Clarence and Della "Stella" (Stepanski) Krabbe. Mom and younger sister Joanne lost both their parents at a young age and were then raised by their Grandma Augusta Krabbe.
    Elaine's life centered around her family, friends and church. She was an avid knitter and crafter, loved playing Scrabble and Bridge and played in eight different bridge clubs at the same time! Between camping, trips to 'Rocky Acres' in Door County and trips to Montana, Elaine's love for the outdoors was obvious. Elaine was a long-time member of First English Lutheran Church in Appleton. She was a servant of Christ to others and will be missed by many. Elaine was united in marriage to Donald Krueger on November 11, 1950, and they enjoyed over 52 years of marriage, until his death.
    Elaine is survived by 3 children: Jeffrey (MaryJo) Krueger of St Croix Falls; Lorrie (Michael) Hansen of Bozeman, MT; and Paula (Jeffrey) Paulson of Ripon; 8 grandchildren: Paul (Stephanie), Jake (Kathryn), Heidi (Paul), Stephen (Erin), Megan (Ryan), Bryn (Ryan), Janna (Alex), and Ben (Alexandra); 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, and sister Joanne (Joseph) Heuring.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am, Friday, April 20, 2018, at First English Lutheran Church, 326 E. North St., Appleton with Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
