Obituary:
Mrs. Edward Nilles passed away Friday evening last week following an illness of several months. Mr. Nilles suffered a slight paralytic stroke last November, from which she recovered, but has not enjoyed very good health since. She was fatally stricken last Friday.
Leona Koehler Nilles, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Koehler, was born June 18, 1904, in North Chilton town. In the fall of 1904, Mr. and Mrs. Koehler moved to Hilbert and here Mrs. Nilles grew to womanhood, receiving her education at the public and parochial schools. She was well versed in music and for several years played the pipe organ at St. Mary's Catholic church. She was married to Edward Nilles here at St. Mary's church November 7, 1928, and has made her home here since. She served for some time as local telephone operator. Mrs. Nilles was of a pleasant happy disposition and during her long illness looked upon the brighter side of life, ever hopeful of recovery. She was an active member of St. Mary's Christian Mother's society.
Survivors besides her husband are one son, John; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Koehler; two sisters, Misses Marie and Ermina Koehler; one brother, Alvin.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church with interment in St. Mary's cemetery. Rev. Raymond Fox officiated.
