    Mr & Mrs John Krell celebrated their golden wedding Sunday at their home on Lawe street on which occasion quite a number of their children and g randchildren gathered to help them commemorate this important event. The re are so few who are permitted the opportunity of celebrating their fifti eth marriage anniversary that an occasion of that kind is a quite notab le one and should be made as much of as possible. They were married at New berg, Washington Co, March 14, 1859, where they resided until 1882 when th ey came to this city to reside. Mrs. Krell's maiden name was Mary Hammen a nd she was married at the age of 22 years. She is now 72 years old. Both w ere born in Germany and came to America when they were quite young. Mr. Kr ell came to Wisconsin in 1851, settling in Washington county 58 years ag o, making him one of the early pioneers of the state. When the civil war w as in progress he enlisted in Co. E. Sixth Wisconsin Infantry, where he se rved until the struggled ended. He is a member of Paul H. Beaulieu Post N o. 247, G.A.R. and is one of the very few old veterans in that orginizati on who is enabled by his age to draw a monthly pension of $20. This commen ced at age 75. Mr Krell is now 76 years old. Both are quite active for the ir years and can walk to the postoffice a distance of one mile. Mr. Kre ll does considerable work as he raises garden stuff doing al the manual la bor himself and marketing the products. Their children living are as follo ws; Peter Krell on the farm in Freedom, Mrs. Margaret Larkin and Nicola us Krell of Ogama, Price County. John Krell, Jr. at the Outagamie County A sylum, Mrs Mary Rombough of Pewaukee and Mrs Katherine Sensoef? of this ci ty.

    Mrs. Katherine Esler Golden Age Home, New London Age 86, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. She was born in Newburg, Wis., October 10,1886, came to Kaukauna when she was seven years old and lived there until she moved to Golden Age Home nine years ago.Survivors are one step-daughter, Mrs. Fred Schultz, Rt. 1, Appleton; one son, Sylvester (Doc) Senso, Kaukauna; one step-ton, Elmer Esler, Milwaukee; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with burial in parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna, after 7 pm. Friday and the rosary will be prayed at 8pm.
