    Utschig, Dorothy M.Dorothy M. Utschig, Appleton, age 91, died Sunday, October 16, 2005, at S t. Paul Home in Kaukauna. Dorothy was born July 4, 1914, in Mackville, t he daughter of the late Nicholas and Bertha (Hein) Griesbach. She was unit ed in marriage to Leonard Utschig on August 8, 1934, at St. Therese Cathol ic Church, Appleton. He preceded her in death in 1955. The Utschigs were t he owners of Utschig Dairy, at the corner of Meade and Glendale stree ts in Appleton. After her husband's death, Dorothy continued to operate t he family business until 1969. Dorothy was devoted to her family. She w as an excellent seamstress and enjoyed gardening, playing cards and travel ing. Dorothy was a longtime member of St. Therese Parish, where she was ma rried and where all of her children were baptized and attended school.Survivors include her children: Gloria (Eugene) Bego, Grand Rapids, Mich .; Mary (Lyle) Dolven, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Patricia (Robert) McCoy, New Lo ndon; L. David (Julie) Utschig, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Barbara Brown, Gr een Bay; Thomas S. (Anne) Utschig, Eau Claire; and Jeffrey (Melissa) Utsch ig, Menomonee Falls; as well as 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildre n. She is also survived by her sister, Gladys Heimann, and two brothers: R oy Griesbach and Leo (Jane) Griesbach, all of Appleton; two sisters-in-la w: Jane Griesbach, Clintonville, and Gloria Griesbach, Appleton; and numer ous nieces, nephews and friends.Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister Esther and four brothers: Nich olas, Roman, Cyril, and Maurice.The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, October 21, 200 5, at ST.     Roy Griesbach, age 95, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2013. Roy was born in the town of Center on September 8, 1917, son of the late Nicholas and Bertha (Hein) Griesbach. He attended Appleton High School, and graduated from Lawrence University in 1948 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. In 1944, he married the former Dorothy Zink; she preceded him in death in 1982.
    Roy served his country during World War II in the US Army-Air Corps. He was a B-17 bomber pilot who successfully flew 34 missions in the European Theater, and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, as well as numerous other commendations before returning home. He finished his military service as a stateside flight instructor. Following his honorary discharge, Roy worked for GMAC in Milwaukee. Upon returning to Appleton, he made his career as a custom home builder and real estate developer. Together with his brothers, they were responsible for the development of Gillett Highlands, Colony Oaks, and Cardinal Downs subdivisions. Roy was an avid big-game hunter in North America, and was especially successful on his African safari. He also shared his enthusiasm for fishing with his children and grandchildren.
    Roy is survived by his four children: Constance Paskell of York, Pennsylvania; Douglas (Marie) Griesbach of Westfield; Karen (Steve) O'Brien of Appleton; and Mary Griesbach of Grantsburg; seven grandchildren: Anne-Marie (Gerard) Gagnon, Courtney (Paul) Stoner, Mark (Cindy) Griesbach, Karen (Andy) Follis , Amy (Nelson) Corazzari, Melanie (John) Peterson, and Megan O'Brien; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law: Jane Griesbach of Appleton. Roy was preceded in death by his siblings: Esther Griesbach, Dorothy (Leonard) Utschig, Gladys (Sylvester) Heimann, Leo Griesbach, Cy (Lavonne) Griesbach, Maury (Jane) Griesbach, Romy (Gloria) Griesbach, and Nicholas "Binx" Griesbach, Jr.
    The funeral liturgy for Roy will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, May 17, 2013 at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 W. Marquette Street in Appleton, with Fr. James Walling officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Full military honors will follow the mass.     Leo J. Griesbach, age 89, of Appleton, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Leo was born on August 18, 1919, in Appleton, to the late Nicholas and Bertha (Hein) Griesbach. Leo attended the Appleton Public Schools and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1949 from Lawrence College of Appleton. Prior to his higher education, he proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945 with the rank of Staff Sergeant-Pharmacy Technician. Leo was a member of American Military Mission to Moscow from 1943 to 1945. He received five medals, including the Bronze Star #9. After the war, Leo was a Licensed Real Estate Broker and Building Contractor. With his beloved brothers, Roy, Cy, Maury and Roman, and with the support of his sisters, Dorothy and Gladys, Leo developed the Gillett Highlands Division in Appleton. This was the land on which their father, Nick, farmed. Together, they built fine homes for over thirty-five years. Leo was a devout Catholic and member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. On May 17, 1952, he married Jane Holmes; she was his soul mate for 56 years.
    He is survived by Jane, his wife; his son Mark (Kate Konrad) Griesbach, Tallahassee, Florida; his daughter, Anne Bocik, and his grandson Nicholas Bocik, Appleton. Leo was the most loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather and mentor.
    He had a voracious appetite for reading and lived life to the fullest. Leo was an ultimate gentleman and touched all who knew him. He will always be missed and will hold a special place in our hearts. May the Lord keep him and give him peace.
    The Memorial Funeral Liturgy will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 W. Pine Street, Appleton, with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again directly at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday.
    The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at ThedaCare Hospice, the caring and compassion of the management and staff at Fox River Assisted Living of Appleton, and the staff at the Veterans Administration - John H. Bradley Community Out- Patient Clinic in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.

    Griesbach, Cyril A.God called Cy Griesbach to heaven on February 8, 2003. He was surround ed by love with family at his side. Cy was born on April 26, 1921 in Apple ton, WI to parents Nicholas and Bertha (Hein) Griesbach. He grew up on t he family farm and attended St. Therese Grade School, Appleton High Scho ol and Lawrence College. He married Eileen Christopherson and raised thr ee children. Cy served in the Navy during World War II as a pilot flyi ng a variety of aircraft including the Grumman TBM Avenger and was assign ed to a squadron named the "Fighting Foxes". While an Appleton reside nt he was the manager of the Packard car company and later became a build er of fine residential homes, helping to develop his fathers farmland in to the Gillette Highlands subdivision and enjoyed hunting, fishing and fly ing.In the early 1970's Cy moved to Madison, WI where he worked in Real Esta te and Property Development. He remarried to LaVonne Comello-Griesbach a nd they worked together in the Real Estate business. During this time Cy g reatly enjoyed woodworking in his basement shop crafting gifts he creat ed for family and friends. He reunited his life with God and demonstrat ed a great capacity for love, forgiveness and an enduring spirituality.Cy is survived by LaVonne his wife of 30 years, son Bruce (Carol) Griesba ch of Oshkosh, WI, daughters Jean (Dr. James) Davidian of Riverside, CA, L ynn (Rick) Jansen of Wautoma, WI, stepsons Dave (Nancy) and Rick Comel lo of Madison, WI; sisters Gladys Heimann and Dorothy Utschig; brothers Ro y, Leo, and Maurice all of Appleton, WI; seven grandchildren, Nick (Dix e) Griesbach, Amherst, WI, Kelly (Scott) Sfraddo Huntington Beach CA, Cer ny and Kyla Jansen, Wautoma, WI and Elise, Chad and Alexis Comello, Madis on WI; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews includi ng beloved nephew Doug (Marie) Griesbach of Madison, WI.     Griesbach, Maurice N.Maurice N. Griesbach, age 82 years, of Moshawquit Lake, passed away on Thu rsday, September 1, 2005 at his daughter's home on the Cloverleaf Lakes. A fter graduating from Appleton High School, Maury served in World War I I. He graduated from Lawrence College, Appleton, in 1950.     Gloria Bego, 77, of Grand Rapids, MI, peacefully passed away on May 18, 2013.
    She was born to the late Leonard and Dorothy Utschig, August 17, 1935, in Appleton, WI. Gloria graduated from St. Mary's High School in Appleton, WI. She attended Mount Mary College and graduated from Lawrence University in 1957. Upon graduating, Gloria moved to Michigan, where she taught elementary and high school education in both Clarkston and Birmingham. In 1960, she married Eugene (Gene) Bego and they have been married for 52 years. Gloria cherished her husband and best friend, Gene. A consummate mother and homemaker, she reveled in spending time with her five children, their spouses, and 12 grandchildren. She took joy in being with friends and, passionately volunteered in numerous community organizations. Gloria was an active sports enthusiast and particularly enjoyed her time playing golf and being in the outdoors. She also loved traveling, gardening, watching birds, cooking, and playing bridge. Gloria was fond of music and theater and in the early years performed in and directed numerous productions. Gloria had a very strong faith in God and loved the Lord. She was an active member of St. Hugo's Catholic Church of Bloomfield Hills and St. Robert of Newminster Parish of Ada, Michigan.
    Gloria is survived by her husband, Gene and five children, Kathy Bego Schneider (husband, Jack and children, Henry, Karl, Clare, Leo, and Ben) of East Grand Rapids, MI; Chris Sturm (husband, Jim Sturm and children, Matt, John, and Dan) of Princeton, NJ; Greg Bego (wife, Tracy and children Kris and Kelsea) of Ada, MI; Jenn Coffman (son, Alex) of East Grand Rapids, MI; and Michael Bego (wife, Charlene, daughter, Ainsley and expected baby in July) of Greenwich, CT. She is also survived by her six siblings Mary Dolven of Idaho Falls, ID; Pat McCoy of New London, WI; Dave Utschig of Colorado Springs, CO; Barbara Brown of Green Bay, WI; Tom Utschig of Eau Claire, WI; and Jeff Utschig of Menomonee Falls, WI.
    Parish Rosary will be prayed 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at St. Robert of Newminster Parish, 6477 Ada Dr. SE, Ada, MI 49301 with Fr. Len Sudlik as celebrant. A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant House.
