    Lt. Robert Massonet, Donald Schermitzler Casualties in Europe
    Two more casualties of the western front in Europe have been reported to families in this area. Lieutenant Robert Massonet, 23, was killed in action Jan. 18 in Luxembourg, and Sergeant Donald T. Schermitzler has been missing in action in Belgium since Jan. 8.
    Massonet, whose wife lives in Little Chute and whose parents are the Nicholas Massonets, 408 N. Catherine street, Appleton, was with the field artillery in General Patton's Third army. Overseas eight months, he entered the service in September, 1942, and received his commission at Fort Sill, Okla. Later he was sent to Camp Shelby, Miss. A graduate of Appleton High school, he was employed by the Kimberly-Clark corporation at Kimberly before entering the service.
    Survivors are the widow, the former Jane VandenHeuvel, Little Chute; one son, Robert, Jr.; the parents; and one brother, Corporal Tom Massonet, in Italy.
    A memorial mass has been arranged for 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. John church, Little Chute.
    Sergeant Schermitzler, whose wife lives at 615 N. Morrison street, has been in the service since Dec. 7, 1942, and overseas since September, 1943. He had been fighting with the 82nd Airborne division. His parents are Joseph Schermitzler, Menasha, and Mrs. Evelyn Schermitzler, Appleton.

    Robert married VandenHeuvel, Jane Frances Aft 1940. Jane (daughter of VandenHeuvel, George J. and Weyenberg, Catherine) was born 22 Dec 1922, Little Chute, Outagamie, Wisconsin, USA; died 23 Apr 2014, Neenah, Winnebago, Wisconsin, USA. [Group Sheet]

    Robert T. (Chris) Christensen, age 69, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, in Margate, Florida. He was born on December 17, 1944, son of the late Robert N. Massonet and Jane F. Christensen. Bob graduated from Neenah High School in 1963 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1967. He enjoyed photography, travel and developing computer databases for several Broward County, Florida family service agencies.
    Bob (Chris) is survived by his wife, Deborah Pinto, Margate, FL; sister, Mary Christensen, Neenah, WI; brother-in-law, John Pinto; sisters-in-law, Carol and Suzanne Pinto; aunts, Ruth DeCoster, Virginia Stuyvenberg and Dorothy Fetters; uncle and aunt Walter (Rose) Christensen; and his new kitten, Frankie.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, John H. Christensen.
    Private funeral services were held in Margate, Florida.
