    Ray Fassbender was at Milwaukee over the weekend where he attended the wedding' of his sister, Ruth Fassbender, to Charles Parker. The marriage took place at Milwaukee where the couple will live. The bride is a daughter of John Fassbender of Appleton and is a former resident of Black Creek.

    Donna L. Fassbender, 77, of Black Creek, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Brewster Village. She was born January 27, 1939, daughter of the late Ray and Leona (Blake) Fassbender.
    Donna meant so much to so many, especially her nieces and nephews and their children. She was a very giving person and was loved by many. She enjoyed her cats, attending the Packer games and traveling. She was employed with Secura Insurance until her retirement where she enjoyed lunches with the special girls.
    Donna is survived by her siblings: Joann (Louden) Brooks, Bruce (Carolyn) Fassbender, John (Cheryl) Fassbender, Mary Ann (William) Rettler; nieces and nephews: Randi (Jack) Zellmer, Tari Brooks, Lori (Darrel) Bizub, James (Michelle) Fassbender, Brian (Angie) Fassbender, Shari (Steve) Vanden Eng, Karyn (Rick) Rottier, John (Shelia) Fassbender, Paul Rettler, Jaime (Chris) Rettler, Robbi (Missy) Rettler, Chris "C.J." (Amanda) Rettler; great nieces and nephews, godchildren: Randi, Brittney and C.J.
    She is preceded in death by her soul mate, Ralph Wickesberg, he passed away April 4, 2016 and a special nephew, Joe Fassbender.

    Friends may call at St. John United Church of Christ, Black Creek on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Schwinn officiating. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.

    Fassbender, Joseph M. "Bubba" Appleton Age 32, died peacefully Friday morning, October 25, 2002 at an Appleton hospital surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with muscular dystrophy. The son of Bruce and Carolyn (Gritt) Fassbender was born November 3, 1969 in Appleton. He attended the Appleton Public Schools, graduating from Appleton West High School Class of 1988.
    Joe enjoyed NASCAR racing, he was a charter member of "Beyond the Boundries at Joe's Lodge" (organization for the handicapped in outside activities), he was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed time spent with his two special nieces. Joe was an inspiration to all who knew him. He enjoyed using his computer as the internet was his life line. He was a dear and loving son and grandson, brother, uncle and friend to all who were privileged to know him.
    Survivors include his parents, Bruce and Carolyn Fassbender, Appleton; two brothers and their families: James (Michelle) and Molly, Wild Rose; Brian (Angie) and Sophia, Lakeville, Minnesota; maternal grandmother, Esther Gritt, Black Creek. Further survived by 30 aunts and uncles: Joann and Louden Brooks, Donna Fassbender and Ralph Wichesberg, Jack and Cheryl Fassbender, Mary Ann and Bill Rettler, Keith and Jan Gritt, Karen and Bert Gietman, Ed and Mary Gritt, Mary and Jerry Lawrence, June and Gus Steffens, Judy and Fran Vervoort, Christine Vander Zanden, Becky and Gary Schaumberg, Steve Gritt, Mike and Jeanne Gritt, Kim and Bruce Johnson, Jennifer and Bob Wagner; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Leona Fassbender; and his maternal grandfather, Edward W. Gritt.

    Friends may call at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 West Marquette St., Appleton on Tuesday, October 29, 2002 after 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday evening 6:00 p.m. at the church with Father Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Burial at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, a special memorial fund has been established in his name.
    Special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Whiteside and the rest of the medical staff at AMC, as well as Joe's wonderful homecare nurses.
    In Joe's short lifetime he was never able to run. Now he is free of all obstacles holding him back and will be running races forevermore.
