    Bill Lamers became the King of the 111th Hollandtown schut, knocking down the final remnants of the bird target on the 1195th shot. Lamers received the traditional cape and silver parrot emblem from Richard Schmidt, the king of lasts year's event.

    Obituary:
    William N. "Bill" Lamers, age 86, of Hollandtown, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at his home. He was born on October 9, 1929, son of the late Godfred and Helen (Fox) Lamers. On September 6, 1951, Bill married Dorothy Van Eperen, and together they shared over 64 years of marriage.
    Bill farmed for 10 years before becoming a partner at Keller Structures. In 1979, Bill and Dorothy co-founded Holland Cold Storage in Hollandtown with Roger and Dolores Van Eperen. Bill and Dorothy also owned L&L Sales and Service. Bill was a lifelong member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown, and a charter member of the St. Francis Men's Choir. He also was a member of the Kaukauna Lions Club, delivered Meals on Wheels for the St. Paul Home in Kaukauna, and was a 3-time Schut King. Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and attending and watching the Packers and Badgers. He and Dorothy traveled to Arizona for the winter months and spent a lot of time at their cottage on Shawano Lake in the summer months. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family. Bill cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren and any time he could spend with them. He was a faithful, devoted family man who will be missed by so many.
    Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy; his children: Steve (Linda) Lamers, Mary (George) Paris, Lynn (Jamie) Weiland, Jane (Rodney) Giordana, Claire (Tom) Diedrich, and Sue (Robb) Vanderloop; grandchildren: Scott (Kristy) Lamers, Laura (Ken) Hayes, Amanda (Bill) Doucette, Chad (Sarah) Lamers, Abby (Rob) Rudolph, Ben (Maria) Weiland, Lee (Bridget) Weiland, Dana (Zach) Tatro, Katie (Ben) Janssen, Kristie Giordana, Jill (Jared) Kaufman, Kayla (Ben) Anderson, Sarah (Lukas) Seefeldt, Mark (Jordan) Vanderloop, and Leah Vanderloop; 24 great grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Van Vreede; brothers and sisters-in-law: Elaine Rietz, Rosie Van Eperen, Roger (Judy) Van Eperen, Mary Ellen Kalies, Marvin (Colette) Van Eperen, Maureen (Tom) Van Zeeland, and Dan (Dianne) Van Eperen; and many other family members and special friends.
    Bill was preceded in death by his son, Mark Gerard Lamers; his parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Eugene Wall; father and mother-in-law, Bernard and Rose Van Eperen; brothers-in-law: Jerry Van Eperen, Ken Kalies, and Don Rietz; and a sister-in-law, Dolores Van Eperen.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at St. Katherine Drexel Parish-St. Francis Church, 433 County Rd. CE, Hollandtown, with celebrants Fr. Willard Van De Loo and Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Visitation will be at St. Francis Church on Friday, January 22, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a parish prayer service at 8:00 p.m., and again at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Bill's name. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
    The Lamers family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Meyer, Dr. Hildebrandt, and Dr. Conkright, as well as their staffs, for the years of compassionate care given to Dad. We would also like to thank Affinity Hospice for allowing Dad to spend the last few days of his life at home because of the wonderful care and compassion you provided. And lastly, we would like to thank Mom for taking such good care of Dad. He will be deeply missed.
