    Martin Verhoven
    Martin Verhoven, 66, route 1, Greenleaf, died at his home at 7 a. m. Sunday. He had been ill about two weeks and sufferd a heart attack Sunday. He was born Jan. 31, 1894, in Outagamie county and lived there until 1924. He farmed in Wrightstown until 1959 and lived in Askeaton since his retirement. He was a World war 1 veteran. Funeral services will be at St. Patrick church, Askeaton, at 9:30 a. m. Thursday. Burial will be in St. Paul cemetery, Wrightstown. Friends may call after 7 p. m. Tuesday at the DeWane Funeral home, Wrightstown, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p. m. Tuesday, Wednesday afternoon and at 8 p. m. Wednesday. Survivors include his widow; five daughters, Mrs. Rito Madrid, Anaheim, Calif., Mrs. Robert Meulemans, DePere, Miss Mary Jane Verhoven, Appleton, and Germaine and Betty, at home; three sons, Benedict, route 2, DePere, Sylvester, route 2, Greenleaf, and Donald, at home; one brother, John, Stratford, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Ashauer, Kaukauna, and Mrs. Henry Deleeuw, route 3, Kaukauna; and 14 grandchildren.

    Verhoven, Benedict "Dick"
    Benedict "Dick" Verhoven, 77, of rural De Pere, passed away at home June 14, 2006 after a short battle with cancer. He was born March 2, 1929, son of the late Gertrude and Martin Verhoven. He married Edna Bartels on July 2, 1952 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere. Until they retired, he and his wife farmed in the Town of Wrightstown. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and traveling. Dick was a member of Catholic Knights for 60 years. He was a religious, loving and hardworking man.
    Ben is survived by his wife, Edna, and all eight children: Judy (Wayne) Bodde, Kaukauna; Kenneth (Joanne) Verhoven, Three Lakes; Ronald Verhoven and his special friend, Brenda, Arkansas; Susan Verhoven and her special friend, Jose Sepulveda, West Bend; Carol (Lee) Inman, Bonduel; Nancy (Jack) Kalies, Sugar Camp; Debra (Dennis) Hermes, Sherwood and Martin (Sue) Verhoven, Minnesota; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; his sister, Jeannie Lindner, Arizona; brother, Sylvester (Bernice) Verhoven, De Pere; brother-in-law, Jim (Rita) Brochtrup, Brillion; Joe (Rosie) Bartels, De Pere and Harvey (Judy) Bartels, Green Bay; and sister-in-law, Linda Krause, De Pere.
    He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Gertrude and Martin Verhoven; four sisters; a brother; and a sister-in-law.
    Family and friends may call Monday, June 19, 2006, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at DeWane-Cotter Funeral Home, 711 Main St., Wrightstown, where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at church, with Msgr. John Schuh officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

    Donald "Duck" Verhoven, age 65, of Wrightstown died Thursday, February 26, 2003 at Century Oaks in Wrightstown. Donald was born August 29, 1937 in Askeaton to the late Martin and Gertrude (Klister) Verhoven. Donald married JoAnn Forstner on Jan 27, 1962 at St Pauls Catholic Church in Wrightstown. Donald worked for A.O. Smith Harvestore for 30 years, prior to owning his own business for 10 years before retiring. Don and his wife JoAnn enjoyed traveling and riding their Harley's for many years. He was also known as Mr. Fix It and was a very inventive man. Survivors include his two sons; Robert and Nancy Verhoven of Ledgeview; William and Kim Verhoven of Alpha, MI. Five grandchildren Joshua, Jennifer, Krystal, Mariah, and Bryanna. Two brothers and a sister; Benedict and Edna Verhoven of Wrightstown; Sylvester and Bernice Verhoven of De Pere; and Jeanie Lindner of Glendale, AZ. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, wife JoAnn, and three sisters; Dorothy, Germaine and Betty.
    Friends may call at the DeWane-Cotter Funeral Home, 711 Main St., Wrightstown on Saturday from 12-2 pm. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Msgr. Roy Klister officiating. Burial in the Greenleaf Cemetery in Marion,WI.

    He is survived by his companion of many years Brenda Justis of the home; his children Tori and Hunter Verhoven and their mother Sylvia all of Columbia, Missouri; his mother Edna Verhoven and her companion Virgil Thiel of De Pere; his brothers and sisters Judy Bodde and husband Wayne of Kaukauna; Kenneth Verhoven and wife Joanne of Three Lakes; Susan Verhoven of Campbellsport; Carol Inman and husband Lee of Bonduel; Nancy Kalies and husband Jack of Rhinelander; Debra Hermas and husband Dennis of Seymour and Martin Verhoven and wife Sue of Rockford, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
    Family and friends may visit at DeWane-Cotter Funeral Home, 711 Main St in Wrightstown, from 9-10:45am on Saturday, September 7. Services will conclude at St. Paul Cemetery in Wrightstown at 11am on Saturday. Online memorials at www.cotterfuneralhome.com
