    Lifelong Resident of Scott Town Dies
    J. Kuipers, 78, a native resident of the town of Scott, died Friday afternoon at 4:30 after a short illness. He has lived in the town of Scott all his life and celebrated his golden wedding anniversary four years ago. He is survived by his widow, three sons, William and Frank of Green Bay; and Martin of Scott; and nine daughters, Mrs. John Bomber, of Green Bay; Sister Martha of the Good Shepherds Convent, Green Bay; Mrs. Adrian Smith, Little Chute; Mrs. Matt Langenberg, Humboldt; Mrs. Martin Van Lannen, Bay Settlement; and Mrs. Elmer Deschane of Scott; Nellie and Genevieve, at home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 from Holy Cross church with internment at the Bay Settlement cemetery.

    Mrs. J. Bomber Dies After Long Illness
    Mrs. John Bomber, 61, 1250 Cass Street, died at 3:45 this morning at a local hospital after a lingering illness. She is survived by her husband, one son, William at home, one daughter, Mrs. Alphonse Le Comte, Green Bay; seven grandchildren; eight sisters, Mrs. Matt Vanden Langenberg, Mrs. Adrian Smith, Sr. Martha, Mrs. Henry Deschane, Miss Nellie Kuipers, Mrs Martin Van Laanen, Mrs. Elmer Deschane, and Miss Genevieve Kuipers, all of Green Bay and vicinity, and by three brothers, Martin, Will, and Frank Kuipers.
    The body is at the Le Comte home, 1258 Elm Street, where the Rosary will be said at 8 o'clock each evening until Saturday, when funeral services will be conducted in St. Mary of the Angel's church.

    Mrs. Matt (Mary) Vanden Langenberg, 88, 1160 Cass St., died Thursday evening at her home after an extended illness. The former Mary Kuipers married Mr. Vanden Langenberg 65 years ago at Bay Settlement. The couple farmed there and in the town of Humboldt until retiring and moving to Green Bay 26 years ago.
    Survivors are her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Rudolph (Mayme) Giese, Mrs. John (Margaret) Zolper, Mrs. Oscar (Irene) Giese, and Miss Agatha Vanden Langenberg, Green Bay; and Mrs. John (Laura) Heim, New Franken; a son Carl, Denmark; 20 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Deschene, Mrs. Elmer Deschene, Miss Genevieve Kuipers, Green Bay; Mrs. Martin Van Laanen, Bay Settlement and two brothers, Frank and William Kuipers, Green Bay.
    At Findeisen-Greiser Funeral Home after 7 tonight, The Rosary will be recited at 8 tonight and Sunday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Angels Church, with the Rev. Chester Osowski in charge. Burial will be in Allouez Cemetery.

    Martin Kuipers Dies At Bay Settlement
    Martin Kuipers, 87-year-old Bay Settlement resident died at his home 9:30 Sunday evening. He had been stricken since Thursday with influenza and pneumonia. The deceased was born in Bay Settlement and married the former Ann Peters, New Franken, 38 years ago. He was a member of the Holy Name society of Holy Cross Church.

    The body is at the Dupont-Malcore Funeral Home, where the rosary will be said at 8 o'clock tonight and Tuesday night. The Holy Name Society will attend Tuesday night.     Sister Mary of St. Martha, Monastery of Our Lady of Charity, died Thursday from a cerebral thrombosis at the monastary. Born Dec. 3, 1882, in Bay Settlement, she was the former Delia Kuypers. She entered the novitiate here Nov. 21, 1906. Surviving are six sisters, Mrs. Matt Loginburg, Mrs Adrian Smith, Mrs. Henry Dushane, Mrs. Elmer Dushane and Miss Genevieve Kuypers, all of Green Bay; Mrs Martin Van Laanen, New Franken, and two brothers, William and Frank, both of Green Bay.     The annual shoot at St. Francis Shooting Society of Hollandtown was held Tuesday morning. The bird, for the contest, was made on a very tough Elm knot and it took 128 shots to bring it down from the 90-foot pole. William Van Lieshout won and he will bear the honorable title of king for the ensuing year. (Could also be the William born in 1873 died 1934)

Sarah and Edmund farmed together in the town of Bellevue f or over 32 years and she was a faithful member for 46 years at St. Phil ip the Apostle Catholic Church. Sarah was a member of the V.F.W. Auxilia ry Post #9677, the Third Order of St. Francis, the Ladies Altar Socie ty at St. Philip’s and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. She was also record ing secretary for over 40 years for the National Catholic Society of Fores ters St. Claire Court #1102. He married the former Genevieve Vandenack on June 1 7, 1950, at SS. Peter and Paul Church and she preceded him in death on Au g. 21, 2001. The couple farmed the Van Lanen homestead all their married l ife until they retired in the 1990's. During this time he also was a devot ed school bus driver for 25 years. Don was a life-long member of Holy Cro ss Church, Bay Settlement. He will be remembered for his enjoyment of anim als, the outdoors and farming. She especially enjoyed learning southern cooking and widespread travel.
    Survivors include her husband, Jack, Wausau; and son, Richard, New Berlin; and many nieces and nephews in the Green Bay area.
    Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at the Church of St. Anne's, 700 W. Bridge St., Wausau, with Rev. Steven J. Brice officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

    Irene C. (Strebel) DeKeyser, 94, Green Bay, died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at a local nursing home. She was born July 14, 1912, in Bay Settlement to the late Michael and Minnie Strebel.
    On May 3, 1941, Irene married Jerome (Jerry) DeKeyser. He preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1993. Irene will be remembered for her love of sewing, gardening and growing flowers.
    She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Phyllis DeKeyser, Ashwaubenon; her daughter, Sandra Pfeiffer, Green Bay; and many nieces and nephews.

    Born in Bay Settlement, Nov. 19, 1915, he is the son of the late William and Mary Ann (Herman) Van Lieshout.
    Orville married the former Bernadette Schott Sept. 4, 1940, at St. Kilians Church, New Franken, and the couple celebrated 65 years of marriage until she passed away Dec. 5, 2005. Together, the couple worked the family farm through thick and thin.
    Orville had a special love of animals which he tended to up until his last days. Orville was a lifetime member of Holy Cross Church, as well as a member of the Holy Name Society, church usher, and parking attendant at the church picnics. Orville was a longtime supporter of Catholic education. He was one of the original members of the Bay Settlement Historical Society.

    Lorraine Rosella Albers, age 88, of De Pere, passed away October 30, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Charles and Mayme (VanDenLangenberg) Linssen was born February 4, 1927 in Bellevue. She was united in marriage to Louis Albers on November 23, 1950 at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Green Bay, and he preceded her in death on November 6, 2006. Lorraine was a life-long member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Christian Ladies group. Lorraine was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards, word searches, cross stitching, being outdoors and always looked forward to the 4th of July annual Linssen family reunion.

    Rodney "Pudge" Van Lanen, 55, a Green Bay resident, died unexpectedly Monday, November 9, 2015, at a local hospital. He was born January 26, 1960, in Green Bay to the late Orville and Irene (VandenHouten) Van Lanen. Pudge attended Preble High School, graduating in 1978. He was employed by DeGroot Construction from 1978 until 1994. Pudge was then employed by the Green Bay Water Utility until his retirement this past year. He also owned and operated Affordable Lawn Care, as well as an antique dealer. Pudge was a longtime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. He will always be remembered as a hardworking, loving father and grandfather.
    He is survived by two daughters, Vanessa Van Lanen and Chantel Van Lanen, both of Green Bay; their mother, Sandra Van Lanen, Florida; He was blessed with two granddaughters, Kaylee Jones and Aleigha Rathbun, who were the apples of his eyes; seven siblings, Milton (Jean) Van Lanen, Barbara (Peter) Beyer, Shirley Huxford, all of Green Bay; Sandie (Paul) Dorner, Luxemburg; David Van Lanen, Green Bay; Michael (Patti) Van Lanen, New Franken; Loretta (Alvin) Beyer, New Franken; his Godfather and Uncle, John Burckle, Wausau; his fiancee, Judi Pekarek, Green Bay; nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Van Lanen, an infant sister, Theresa; his fiancée, Mary Porod, many aunts and uncles.
    Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 743 S. Monroe Ave., after 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Paul Schleis officiating. Burial in Mellen Township Cemetery, Wallace, Michigan. On-line condolences may be sent to the Van Lanen family at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund had been established.
