    Obituary:
    Sylvester W. Vanden Hoogen, 75, passed away on Friday, January 14, 20 05 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on July 7, 1929 to the late Leo nard and Nellie Vanden Hoogen. He served with the U.S. army, in the Armor ed Division, during the Korean War. After the war, he went to California w here he was employed in the movie industry for many years. This is also wh ere he took the name of Paul Van. He came to Little Chute after his retire ment where his flower garden and his dog, Fritz, were his pride and jo y. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Little Chute, the Scre en Actors Guild, the Jacob Coppus Post 258 of the American Legion and t he Knights of Columbus.
    He is survived by five sisters: Marie (Cyril) Schmoll, Black Creek; Franc es (Leo) Gitter, Little Chute; Rosella Vanden Hoogen, Little Chute; Lorrai ne (Earl) Calnin, Sherwood and Leona Lancour, Kaukauna; two sisters-in-la w: Mary Vanden Hoogen, Green Bay and Margaret Vanden Hoogen, Seymou r. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister-in-law: Herman, An thony and Frank (Helene) and one brother-in-law: Richard Lancour.
    The funeral service for Sylvester will be at 11 am on Monday, January 1 7, 2005 at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute with Msgr. James Vand en Hogan officiating. Friends may call directly at church from 9 am Mond ay until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The J acob Coppus Post 258 will provide full military rites immediately followi ng the services at church. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukau na is assisting the family. 766-2099.
