    Obituary:
    Richard (Dick) Verkuilen, 77 of Kimberly passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015. Dick was born on July 14, 1938 in Little Chute, WI. , son of the late Theodore and Mary (Fleischmann) Verkuilen. On October 15, 1960, Dick married Linda Prusynski at Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly and spent 52 wonderful years together until her passing in August 2013. Dick attended St. Johns H.S. in Little Chute where he was a standout athlete in basketball, football and baseball. Dick spent most of his adult life working at the Appleton Papers Locks Mill in Combined Locks where he retired in 2000. At the mill he was very active in the union and held various positions including union President. Throughout his life Dick enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He purchased his property at Chute Pond in 1978 and spent most of his off time and retirement enjoying the woods and lakes he so loved.
    Dick is survived by his son, Paul (Sandy) Verkuilen, Iron Ridge, WI; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Beth and Janice; sisters-in-law, Karin (Ken) Vander Velden and Rosie Verkuilen; and many nieces, nephews and other special family members and friends.
    Dick was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Mary; brothers: Ted and Michael; sister Margaret; and mother and father-in-law, Ollie and Ethel Prusynski.
    Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal St., Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Lunch will be served at Tanners Grill and Bar, 730 S. Railroad St. in Kimberly from noon until 2 p.m. to celebrate the life of this wonderful man. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Dick's name.
