Helms, Gertrude Margaret
Age 94, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Trinity Terrace in New London. She was born on April 12, 1920 to the late James and Margaret (Lippert) Wittlin in the Town of Center. She married Robert Helms on September 12, 1942 at St. Patrick Church, Stephensville; Robert preceded her in death in 1995. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Gertrude is survived by her children: Peg (Jay) Taborsky, Seattle, WA and David Helms, Appleton; grandchildren: Laura (Jon) Taborsky, Julie (Casey) Bowman and Codey Helms; brother Robert (Dottie) Wittlin; sisters: Rosemary (Gerald) Stadler, Joan (George) Pritzel and Joyce (Wayne) Pierre.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, brother James Wittlin and her sisters: Myra Weber and Ruth Komp; and brothers-in-law Harold Komp, Walter Weber and Gerald Stadler.
A Mass of Resurrection will take place on Wednesday, August 27 at 11 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St, Appleton with Father Tom Farrell officiating. Friends may visit directly at the church on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of service at 11am. Internment at will be at Highland Memorial Park.
