    Suess, Ronald J.
After a brave battle against pancreatic cancer, Ron Suess passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 9, 2008. Ron was born in Appleton on March 28, 1958, son of the late Joseph Suess and Rosemary (Probst) Suess who resides in Florida. Ron was a 1976 graduate of Xavier High School and also attended the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley, where he received an Associate's Degree in Science. On September 6, 1980, he married Debbie Mitchler at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. They had a beautiful marriage of 28 years. During that time, they raised three fantastic children: Tyler (27), Meghan (21), and Trevor (11). As a teen, Ron helped his parents with the family business, Suess TV and Appliance of Appleton. In 1990, he and his brother Tim, with the help of Lynn took over the business, now known as Suess Electronics.
Ron made his life an adventure. He loved downhill skiing, speed skating, mountain biking, sailing, and whatever else struck his fancy. He enjoyed sharing these pastimes with family and friends. Skiing has been a lifelong passion of Ron's. He loved the rush he felt as he skied down a headwall. He experienced that same sensation doing countless laps with the Skate City Speed Skating Team. Mountain biking filled the gap between skiing and skating. Ron competed for several years in the Wisconsin Off Road Series with his family. His dream of owning a sailboat came true when he and his wife purchased About Time in 2003. Captain Ron and his first mate Debbie have been members of the High Cliff Yacht Club for several years. He was an avid sailor and spent his free time sailing the waters of Lake Winnebago. Ron loved life, and lived each day to the fullest. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, caring grandfather and friend to many.
Ron is survived by his mother, Rosemary Suess of Winter Haven, Florida; his loving wife, Debbie Suess, of Appleton; three children: Tyler (Becky) Suess of North Carolina and their son Brandon; Meghan Suess and Trevor Suess at home; three sisters: Mary Ann (Chuck) Cline of Brown Deer; Carolyn (John) Haugner of Dousman; and Nancy (Scott) Schreiber-Milheiser of Fremont; a brother: Tim (Lynn) Suess of Greenville; Debbie's parents: Tim and Doreen Mitchler of Appleton; a sister-in-law: Sandy Park of Appleton; and a brother-in-law: Steve (Pam) Mitchler of Appleton; and several nieces and nephews.
