    Obituary:
    Ethel M. Colwitz, age 85, Shiocton, died Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at home surrounded by her family. She was born March 6, 1919 in Brillion to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Caflisch) Cordy. On August 27, 1939 she was married to Ervin Colwitz. She and her husband ran a gas station in Shiocton for many years.
    Ethel was a member of the Shiocton First Congregational Church and its Willing Workers organization. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.
    She is survived by her children, Jerry and LaRae Colwitz, Shiocton; Gene and Patricia Colwitz, Green Bay; and Jack Colwitz, Shiocton; eight grand-children: Greg Colwitz and special friend, Missy, Shiocton; Randy and Boni Colwitz, Shiocton; Matthew and Rachel Colwitz, De Pere; Chad and Laura Colwitz, Shiocton; Elizabeth Hill, Shiocton; Erin Colwitz, Redondo Beach, California; Sarah and Joseph Kubiak, De Pere; and Andrew Colwitz, Green Bay; three sisters: Minerva Beane, Birmingham, Alabama, Dorothy and Oscar Pharo, Birmingham, Alabama, and Delores Couillard, Green Bay; one sister-in-law Francie Brigham, New London and eight great-grandchildren.
    Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin in 1978, one brother Ray Cordy, one brother-in-law Charles Beane, three sisters-in-law: Mildred Cordy, Viola Wheeler, and Pat Ebert.
    Ethel enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and especially time spent with family and friends. She always had beans and pie in the freezer. Ethel was a great cook and had a wonderful sense of humor. She welcomed everyone into her home and was able to see only the good in everyone. Ethel will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by many.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2005, at 3 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Shiocton. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m. Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton is in charge of the arrangements.
    The family would like to extend special thanks to Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion.

    Obituary:
    Marilyn Ellis, age 75, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, August 30, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at The Gardens of Fountain Way in Menasha. Marilyn was born in Hortonville on February 7, 1938, daughter of the late Raymond and Mildred (Leeman) Cordy. She attended Hortonville High School, and on April 22, 1961, married Donald Ellis. The couple enjoyed forty-six wonderful years together before his death in 2008. For many years she was employed by Kimberly Clark Corporation, and worked there until her retirement. She loved crossword puzzles, crocheting, time spent with her family, Friday fish frys, playing cards with friends, gardening and canning, and Sunday drives to visit family and friends.
    Marilyn is survived by three children: Jeff (Barb) Ellis of Neenah and their children Chad, Matthew, and Carissa; Lynn (Ron) Cops of Neenah and their children Jena (Chris) Schmidt, Trisha, and Joseph; and Mark (fiancée Jamie Dahms) of Appleton and their children Garrett, Mya, Sam, and Noah; a sister: Jackie Miller of Neenah; a brother: Jay (Betty) Cordy of Hortonville; and Don's siblings: Elmer (Delores) Ellis, Rosie (Stanley) Ruedinger, Mary Ann Ellis, and Robert Ellis; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
    A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, 3212 S. Oneida Street in Appleton with Chaplain Karon Sandberg officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Marilyn's memory.     The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the wonderful people who cared for Marilyn during her illness. They include everyone at The Fountains of Garden Way in Menasha and the staff of Heartland Hospice. We will never forget your kindness.
