    Adolph E. Fuerst Jr., age 78 of Appleton, passed away Friday, October 22, 2004 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton. He was born in Appleton on July 3, 1926, the son of the late Adolph and Kathryn (Werner) Fuerst. On June 17, 1950, he married Madelyn Wittbrod at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church in Neenah. Todd proudly served his country in the Philippines during World War II as a United States Navy gunner. He retired from American Can with almost forty years of employment as a foreman. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry, going to their cottage in Mountain, Wis, and most importantly spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Despite suffering a stroke twelve years ago, he always had a smile on his face.
    Survivors include; his wife, Madelyn "Mickey" Fuerst, three sons, Keith (Cindy) Fuerst, of Inverness, Ill., Gary (Joan) Fuerst and Todd ( Carol) Fuerst, all of Appleton; two daughters, Carla Mortimer and Cheri (Jeff) Kehl, all of Appleton; grandchildren, Alison (Dan) Wojcik, Bartlett, Ill.; Andrea (Jake) Brott, St. Paul, Mn.; Erik (Angela) Fuerst, Appleton; Andy (Laura) Sonsthagen, Neenah; Jordan, Erin, and Krystle Fuerst, Appleton; Lora (Jon) Glasel, Kaukauna; Tara Mortimer, Oshkosh; Ryan Kehl, Appleton; Tanya Kehl, Darboy; and Jessica Frizzell of Greenville, six great-grandchildren, Owen, Haley, Shayd, Ava, Aiden, and Lilly, one brother, Leo (Charlene) Fuerst, Appleton; sister-in-law, Esther Fuerst, Appleton; special friends, Anne (Randy) Reschke, Hortonville; Barb (Dick) Hartwell, Ohio; Betsy (Jim) Vosters, Little Chute, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Todd was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Edward and George Fuerst, one sister, Catherine Dorschner, and one grandson, James Mortimer.
    A Memorial Mass for Todd will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2004, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton with the Rev. Robert Karuhn officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, at the church, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Todd's name.
    Our loving husband, father and grandfather will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Thanks dad for all the great moments, especially those "cottage days."

    Gary Lee Fuerst, 58, Appleton, passed away peacefully on Jan. 12, 2012, after a year-long battle with cancer. Gary was born in Appleton, on May 25, 1953, to Madelyn Fuerst and the late A.E. "Todd" Fuerst, Sr. On Oct. 16, 2010, he was married to Sheri (Van Horn) Fuerst.
    Gary was employed by Affinity Health Care for over 35 years. He enjoyed Ford Falcons, dancing, cartoons, outdoor activities (biking, skiing, jogging) and spending time with his family and friends. Gary was actively involved in the Falcon Club of America and will be missed by his Falcon family.
    Gary will also be dearly missed by his surviving family, beloved wife, Sheri; mother, Madelyn (Mickey); son and daughter-in-law, Erik and Trisha; daughter, Angela; step-children, Brenda (Mark) Alberts, Jodi (Chris) Gennrich, Kim (Don) Lederhaus; step-grandchildren, Saylor, Kelsi, Alicia, Alexa, Aidon; brother, Todd (Carol) Fuerst; sisters, Carla Mortimer and Cheri (Jeff) Kehl; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his father, A.E. "Todd" Fuerst, Sr.; and his brother, Keith Fuerst.
    A memorial service will take place on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

    Carla J. "Mama C" Mortimer, age 58, of Appleton, passed away at Appleton Medical Center on Thursday, October 10, 2013. Carla was born on February 27, 1955, to Madelyn (Witbrod) and the late Adolph Fuerst. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and an inspiration to all. Carla enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading. She was an active volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and the United Way.
    Survivors include her daughter, Lora (Jon) Glasel, and grand daughter, Zoe; her daughter, Tara (Clint) Mortimer Peloquin; her mother, Madelyn Fuerst; her grand puppies Bug, Mimo, and Harley; her sister Cheri (Jeff) Kehl; her brother, Todd (Carol) Fuerst; and her dear friend Laurie Doule. She is further survived by her former husband Tom Mortimer, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, James; her brothers, Keith and Gary Fuerst; and her in-laws, Susan Mortimer, Steve Mortimer, Marge Mortimer and Ken Mortimer.
    Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME - TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 1592 Oneida Street, Menasha, with Pastor Mike Huff officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established in her name.
