    James W. Meyers, Menasha, passed away into the loving arms of his Lord a nd Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by his compassionate wife and loving f amily. The late James was born April 21, 1941, to Helen and Lewis Meye rs in Appleton, WI.
    On August 11, 1962, James married his sweetheart, the love of his life, Be verly (Hoelzel), sharing 44 years and being blessed with three wonderfu l, loving, and caring children: Deborah (Robert) Lee, Appleton; James G. ( Denise) Meyers, Menasha; and Steven P. (JoAnn) Meyers, Neenah; who in tu rn blessed them with seven grandchildren: Chandra Lee, Charissa Lee, Brand on Meyers, Quintin Lee, Hunter Meyers, Quilin Lee, and Madison Meyers; a g reat-granddaughter, Elena Sierra, and a great-granddaughter due in Decembe r, all of whom James loved dearly. Jim will also be sadly missed by his t wo special Maine Coon cats, Handsome and Queenie.
    Jim's hobbies were his love of music, gardening, trains, cats, and readi ng his bible. He was active in the Charismatic renewal by playing his guit ar and singing, also at the "guitar masses" at St. Patrick's in Menash a. In his earlier years, Jim played with the Golden Catalinas band. Jam es loved his family very much and enjoyed going to their activities, inclu ding his grandchildren's lacrosse, football, fashion shows, and their spec ial days. Being a loyal Packers fan since the 1950's, he never missed a ga me except for the years he served his country in the Army from 1962 to 19 66 and on active call from 1966 to 1968. James was honorably discharged ea rning several medals, with the rank of SP4-E4. James also arranged for h is father-in-law, Rueben Hoelzel to receive the autographed game ball fr om the 2005 Brett Favre charity softball game signed by Brett and the re st of the team.
    James was Assistant City Planner in Appleton for several years, before wor king for WE Energies as a GIS specialist for 39 years. He retired in Apr il of 2004. James was a member of the IBEW Local #2150. He graduated fr om Appleton West and also graduated from Chicago College of Technology, ea rning several degrees in drafting. His favorite scriptures were Psalm 5:1 2, 103: 2-3, 119: 11, and 1 Peter 2:24.
    The Mass of Resurrection for Jim will be held at Noon, on Thursday, Augu st 31, 2006, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Menasha, with Fr. Roy Geen en officiating. Military Rites will be performed by the American Legion Po st #60 of Kimberly. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Menas ha's Westgor Funeral Home, and again on Thursday at the church from 9 a. m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Wisconsin Veterans Ceme tery in King, WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in h is name.
