Margaret "Marge" Ellen Jahnke, 83, De Pere, was reunited with her true love, Jack, on February 25, 2016. Marge passed away peacefully in her home at Age Well Center for Life Enrichment surrounded by her family. She was born March 14, 1932 in Neenah, Wisconsin to Thomas and Florence (Simon) Verbrick. Marge was united in marriage to John R. Jahnke May 31, 1958. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2011. Together they raised four children, Donna Jahnke (Madison), Deb (Gary) Winters (Green Bay), Tim (Sharla) Jahnke (Roswell, GA) and Ellen (Kate Flynn) Jahnke, (Rice, MN).
Marge graduated from St. Mary High School in Menasha, WI, class of 1950 and spent most of her adult life employed by Women's Health Specialists in Appleton, WI. She and Jack were hard working people and took pride in helping their children attain their higher education goals. They set the bar high for grandparents everywhere, attending every soccer game and tennis match, through the collegiate level and even traveled to Pennsylvania and Georgia for wrestling matches and football games. They took the grandchildren camping and on trips to Washington DC and St. Louis. We will all remember "big breakfast" at Grandma and Grandpa's house before Packer games, with Grandma's strawberry jam and her homemade cinnamon rolls, and playing Grandma's unnamed card game, at which she shamelessly cheated.
She is survived by her children, five grandchildren, Adam (Lauren) Winters, Jacob (Marie) Jahnke, Andrew (Amanda) Winters, Eric (Julie) Jahnke and Amanda (fiancé Cory Inman) Winters and five great grandchildren, Ethan and Alexis Winters, Jude Jahnke, and Ava and Ella Winters, one sister, Helen (Clarence) Lotzer, sister-in-law Shirley Verbrick, a special niece Jennifer (Matt)Smith and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her parents, brothers Tom, Bob and Donald Verbrick, sisters-in-law Mildred Verbrick and Barbara Verbrick, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Marge and Arvid Sorvik.
Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 2:00 - 5:00PM Sunday, February 28, 2016. Marge's family would like to extend their thanks to the staffs of Unity Hospice and Age Well for their care and kindness, to Angela, her private care giver for her support and companionship, to all the ladies at Classic Dimensions in De Pere for their friendship through the years and her niece Carol for her unfailing dedication. -
