    Obituary:
    Dorothy Van De Ven, 88, of De Pere, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. The daughter of the late Theodore and Ann Keyser was born on September 20, 1925. On June 28, 1947 she married Donald Van De Ven at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Wrightstown. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2012. Dorothy belonged to the Silver Cliff Chapel Choir, the Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Auxiliary, and the American Legion Post 66 Auxiliary. She also had been a waitress at the Union Hotel for 15 years. Dorothy loved to cook, sew, quilt, crochet, snorkel, and play cards with friends and family, especially cribbage with her husband. She was an adventurous woman, who took up downhill skiing at the age of 60. Dorothy unconditionally loved her family with all of her heart. She and Don were role models for their very caring and supportive family. Gramma Dot was a loving grandma to all her grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
    Dorothy is survived by her children; Peggy and Bill Klipstine, Denmark; Daniel and Karen Van De Ven, Crivitz; David and Beth Van De Ven, Hartland; Pamela and Joe Walus, Abrams; Becky Bunker, Gresham; and Richard and Cathy Van De Ven, De Pere; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren (with one on the way!); a brother, Norbert and Gloria Keyser, De Pere; four sisters, Jenny Anderson, Green Bay; Betty Van De Ven, De Pere; June Kurowski, De Pere; Elaine and Dick Baeten, Green Bay.
    Friends and family are encouraged to celebrate Dorothy's life at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will continue at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Monday beginning at 10:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating.     The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Angel's Touch Assisted Living and Hospice Advantage for all of their care and compassion.
