Obituary:
JACOB B DEUEL
It is with feelings of the deepest regret, shared by the entire community, that we announce that J. B. Deuel, Esq., District Attorney of this county, died suddenly in the military hospital at Madison, a few days ago.
Mr. Deuel was a native of Dutchess County, N. Y., from which place he removed to this county about fourteen years ago. He was a gentleman by nature and kind and courteous to all with whom he came in contact. Honest and upright in all his dealing he enjoyed the respect and confidence of the entire people of this county, and we can truly say that he hadn't an enemy in the county. During his residence here he held several offices of honor and trust, the duties of which he always faithfully and impartially performed. In September last, feeling it his duty to enter the army, he enlisted in the 21st regiment, and was waiting at Madison to be forwarded to the regiment when he was attacked by the fatal disease which terminated his existence. His constitution was naturally feeble and the hardships and privations of camp life soon wore it out.
Few men in the county will be more sadly missed than Mr. Deuel. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his untimely fate, who have the sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement Mr. D. was about 38 years old at the time of his decease."

Obituary:
Last of Grignon Heirs Succumbs in California
Word has been received here of the death of Augustin Deuel Grignon, 52, the last of the Grignon heirs, at Los Angeles, Calif., Friday. He was the grandson of Charles A. Grignon, who built the famous Grignon home at Kaukauna, one of the state's most widely known landmarks. Augustin Deuel Grignon was born at Kaukauna March 24, 1886. He will be buried at the Englewood Catholic cemetery, Englewood [sic], Calif. Survivors are the widow and an aunt, Mrs. Ross Grignon, Kaukauna". [Appleton Post Crescent, Mon., Oct. 24, 1938 pg. 21]

He was the last of the Grignon heirs. He was born in Kaukauna on March 21, 1886, the son of Augustine and Catherine Deuel Grignon. He has been a resident in California since 1912.
