    John T. Streur, age 88, of Appleton, died Sunday morning, October 22, 2006. He was born November 10, 1917, to the late John and Johanna (Vander Wielen) Streur, in Kimberly and had been an Appleton resident most of his life. John served with the U.S. Army from 1942-1945 in the European Theatre. He never forgot the early Depression years when he sold newspapers in Appleton at the age of 12. He made a few dollars a week and it went to help support his family, as did the money from the Appleton News Agency job he took at the age of 16. The business began to expand in the 1960's and in the 1970's the name was changed to Badger Periodical Distributors. Up to the last few weeks of his life, John, was at work everyday. He was very proud of the accomplishments he received such as: The Governor's Small Business Award, awarded by Governor Tommy Thompson, Chamber Small Business Person of the Year in 1985, numerous outstanding book wholesaler awards, he was a director of the Outagamie Bank starting in 1984 and continued as a director through its successor banks including Wells Fargo, he was also a "25 Year Club" officer which is an industry charitable organization. John was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, the Oney Johnston-Edward Blessman American Legion Post #38, the Harvey Pierre VFW Post #2778 and the Appleton Elks Club #337. John is survived by his wife of 21 years, Patricia (Hein) Streur; John's children, William (Luann) Streur and their children, Nicole (Antoine) Tines and great-grandson, Ethan, and Heather (Mark) Dupont; Thomas (Pamela) Streur and their children, Eric, Megan and Jason; Peggy (Carlos) Mendez and their children, Michael and Tara, all of Appleton area. He is further survived by Pat's children, Cynthia (Buzz) Hempel and their son, Bradley; Sue (Amos) Cooper and their daughter, Claudia, all of Texas; his sisters, Gloria Kraus and Virginia Magnus, of Appleton; sisters-in-law: Mary Hinkens, Joan Hein, Trudy (Lee) Dunham; and a brother-in-law, Victor (Janiece) Hein; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years, Helen; four sisters, one brother and six brothers-in-law. The funeral liturgy for John will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2006, at ST BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 West Pine Street, with Father Dennis Ryan and Reverend Jane Anderson officiating. Entombment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m., until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers memorial funds have been established for John's favorite charities.

    Hubertus - Gloria was called to eternal rest on Sunday, August 19, 2018. She was born on October 26, 1925 to John and Johanna (Vander Wielen) Streur. She was retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital and later from Wal-Mart. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Parish in Appleton. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. They always knew there was a jar of M&M's and chocolate covered raisins waiting for them when they visited. She will be remembered for her caring and supportive nature and her recent love of Hallmark movies and word search puzzles.
    She is survived by her daughter, Delores (Randy) Parsons; stepdaughter, Carol (Michael) Sly; grandchildren, Stephanie Parsons, (Elizabeth Wade), Valarie Walker, Brandon Parsons, and Michelle (Pat) Katz; 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Andrew Medvied and second husband, Clarence Kraus; brothers, John Streur and Gerald Streur, sisters, Ellagonda Sullivan, Ann Calmes, Elizabeth Streur, Cresentia Seggelink, and Virginia Magnus.
    The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, 500 W. Marquette Street, Appleton with Fr. James Jugenheimer officiating. Gloria's family will receive relatives and friend at the church on Friday from 12:45 until time of service. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Gloria's honor to St. Jude's Hospital.
    Rest in peace without pain and suffering Gloria, as a faithful servant you made a difference on this earth and touched so many lives. Gloria's passion for life burned bright.

    Magnus, Virginia D. (Streur) "Purkey"
    Virginia was called to eternal rest on Saturday July 26, 2014 after a short illness. She was born in Appleton, April 2, 1935, daughter of the late John and Johanna (Vander Weilen) Streur.
    Family was her focus along with teaching others. Virginia first started teaching in a one room school and continued her passion for teaching for 49 years before retiring from Holy Name of Jesus in Kimberly. Her compassion was immense. Virginia was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Appleton. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, card making, knitting and reading. Virginia was very proud of her granddaughter, Johanna.
    Virginia is survived by her daughter, Ann (Bart) Forseth; granddaughter, Johanna Wang; sister, Gloria Kraus; sister-in-law, Pat Streur; and many nieces and nephews. She was further preceded in death by her daughter, Therese Magnus-Wang; George Magnus; brothers, Gerald and John Streur; sisters, Ann Calmes, Ella Sullivan, Chresentia Segglink, and Elizabeth Streur; and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
    Mass of Christian burial will be 5:00 PM on Thursday July 31, 2014 at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 N McDonald St, Appleton, with Fr. James Lucas officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday beginning at 3:30 PM until the hour of service. Burial will be at Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
    Virginia's family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Appleton Medical Center, and Theda Care Hospice caregivers, for all their care and compassion.

    Appleton - Candace Ann (Calmes) Schoultz, 69, of Appleton, WI, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Theda Care - Appleton(AMC), surrounded by her loving family.
    Born in Appleton, WI on May 2, 1948, Candy is survived by her husband Robert; four sons Matthew, Travis (Lisa), Ryan (Camille), Shawn, one daughter Kira, a sister Helen and brother Tom. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ann (Streur) Calmes, and two brothers Ted and Terry Calmes.
    A graduate of West High School Class of '66 and a graduate of Fashion & Interior Decorating at the Patricia Stevens Career College Class of '67. Candy married the love of her life, Bob, July 1, 1967 and just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past July.
    Candy's greatest joy in life was her family that she dedicated her whole life to, taking care of and nurturing her children. Anyone who knew Candy saw first-hand the kindness of her eyes, the love of her heart, and the beauty in her soul. She and Bob enjoyed 30 years of taking day trips every Saturday, to adjacent states, and many visits to Amish areas from Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Iowa.
    Later in life, Candy's greatest joy and happiness was her grandchildren whom she loved dearly and thought of every day. Hayden, Madison, Terrence, Raeleigh and Michael - you are loved by your Grammy beyond comprehension and have a beautiful angel watching over you all.
    Mommy, you are loved, now and forever, to the moon and back.
    The family wishes to extend tremendous gratitude to the wonderful ICU staff at Theda Care - Appleton(AMC).
