    Mrs. Anna Joas, 91 of R. 1, Chilton, died Thursday morning at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, after a lingering illness.
    She was born May 27, 1871, at Charlesburg, a daughter of John and Theresa Steiner Daun. She was married May 14, 1895, at Charlesburg to Joseph Joas.
    She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Stockbridge, and the Christian Mother's Society of the church.
    Surviving are a son, Alfred, R. 1, Chilton; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Nickel and Mrs. Nicholas Kampfer, both of Chilton; a sister, Mrs. May Boehnlein, Chilton; and two brothers, Peter and Charles Daun, both of Charlesburg.
    Her husband, a son and two daughters preceded her in death.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Stockbridge. The Rev. William Willinger will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
    Friends may call Schinderle Funeral Home, Stockbridge, until the hour of services. The parish Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock this evening.

    Anna married Joas, Joseph G. 14 May 1895. Joseph (son of Joas, Frank Xavier and Hemauer, Catherine) was born 28 Oct 1868, Sherwood, Calumet, Wisconsin, USA; died 22 Jul 1936, Stockbridge, Calumet, Wisconsin, USA; was buried , St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Stockbridge, Wisconsin, USA.     Obituary:
    Mrs. Margaret Pethan, 77, of 24 Spring St., Chilton, widow of George, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Calumet Memorial Hospital there. She had been hospitalized two weeks.
    The former Margaret Daun, she was born Jan. 7, 1882 in the Town of Brothertown Calumet county a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Daun.
    She attended St. Charles Catholic School at Charlesburg and was married to Mr. Pethan in that church Nov. 13, 1906.
    Following marriage, the couple farmed in the Charlesburg area. Mr. Pethan died Dec. 6, 1943.
    She was active in St. Mary's Catholic Parish at Chilton, being a member of the Christian Mothers Society, Daughter of ?? Mission Society, CUC and Charlesburg Branch 118, Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.
    Surviving are three sons, Henry, Roman and Leonard of Charlesburg; four daughters, Mrs. Zeno Meyers Marie and Mrs. Gregory Propson Rose of Charelsburg, Mrs. Roland Gruber Etta of Hilbert and Mrs. Marvin Ecker Martha of Stockbridge, 37 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    She also leaves two brothers, Peter and Charles Daun of Charlesburg; and two sisters, Mrs. Joas of Fond du Lac and Mrs. Joseph Boehlein of Chilton.
    Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
    The Requiem Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church, Chilton, with the Rev. Joseph Bartelme, pastor, celebrant. Mass will follow 9 o'clock family rites at the Erbe-Hoffman Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the funeral home in Chilton this evening. The Rosary will be recited there at 8.

    Jerome J. "Jerry" Kampfer, age 81, of N4247 Hwy BB, Chilton, died on Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. He was born on October 18, 1925, in Chilton, son of Nicholas and Veronica (Joas) Kampfer. Jerome married Delores L. Woelfel on June 7, 1949, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. Jerome farmed all of his life in the Town of Chilton.
    He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton, a 63-year member of the Chilton Eagles #1288, and the We Love to Dance Club. Jerry loved horses. He and a group of friends met monthly to trail ride and have fun with their horses.
    Jerry is survived by his wife, Delores; two children: Merle (Sue) Kampfer of Hazelhurst, Marilyn Lautenschlaeger of New Holstein; two grandchildren: Nicholas Kampfer of Plymouth, Mandie (John) Christenson of Tomahawk; a great-grandchild, Cait Lorraine Christenson; two sisters: Lucille Cole, Florence (Dr. Joseph) Schlaefer; a brother, Claude Kampfer; brothers and sisters-in-law: Margaret (LaVern) Halbach, Eleanor (Kenneth) Klotz, Clarence (Shirley) Woelfel, Alex (Gladys) Woelfel, Doris (Bob) Turba, Don (Betty) Woelfel, Betty (Lloyd) Petrie.
    He was also preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Veronica Kampfer; a brother Franklin; his father and mother-in-law, Alex and Francis Woelfel; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Gerald Cole, Joan Kampfer, Paul and Olga Woelfel, and Alice Jane Woelfel.
    Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St. in Chilton) from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, and again on Wednesday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. A parish prayer service will be held on Tuesday evening at the funeral home, and an Eagles Prayer service will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
