    Obituary:
    Clarence J. Hein Appleton Age 81, died on Monday, April 16, 2001, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, following a short illness. Clarence was born on November 6, 1919, in Appleton, son of the late Martin and Helen (Tennie) Hein. He married Mary Ermers on April 11, 1944, and together they have enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Clarence retired from Mid-Tec in 1982, where he was employed as a mill worker. He loved fishing, golfing, bowling and gardening. Clarence will be greatly missed by his wife Mary; three daughters, Patricia Berg and companion John Jenkel; Dianne (David) Dexter; and Mary Sue (Brian) Lee, all of Appleton; four brothers, Thomas Hein, La Crosse; Florian (Rita) Hein; Jerry (Mary) Hein and Merlin (Ann) Hein, all of Appleton; three sisters, Delores Dexheimer; and Marie (Robert) Ferron, both of Appleton; Alice (Jerry) Plog, Green Bay; three granddaughters, Nancy (Jeremy) Schabow, Hartland, Wisconsin; Allison and Andrea Lee, both of Appleton; three grandsons, Thomas Dexter, Rochester, Minnesota; Jonathan Dexter, Taylor, Michigan; and Daniel Dexter, El Paso, Texas. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Clarence was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Estella Hein; his brother-in-law, Harvey Dexheimer; his sister-in-law, Dorie Hein; and his son-in-law, Gary W. Berg. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2001, at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 West Marquette Street, Appleton, with Father Donald Zuleger officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. Friends will be received at the church on Thursday, April 19, 2001, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to benefit cancer research.     Marie H. Ferron, age 79, of Appleton, passed away Friday morning, September 19, 2008, due to complications of leukemia. She was born February 25, 1929, to the late Martin and Helen (Tennie) Hein, in Appleton, where she was a resident all of her life. Marie had been employed by H. C. Prange Company and by Valley Orthopedic Clinic (Orthopedic and Sports Institute of the Fox Valley) retiring in 2007.
    She enjoyed traveling, family gatherings, cross-country skiing and reading. She is a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.
    Marie is survived by her husband, Robert S. Ferron, to whom she had been married for 58 years; seven children: Christine Ferron, Green Bay; Thomas (Marcie) Ferron, Verona; Dennis Ferron, Kaukauna; Barbara (Dan) Williams, Greenville; David (Amy) Ferron, Hartland, WI; Robert (Lynn) Ferron, Gilbert, AZ; James (Theresa) Ferron, Seattle, WA; 19 grandchildren, Toby, Jordan (fiancee Rachel), Lee, Molly (Matthew), Laurie, Lisa (fiance Adam), Karen (Austin), Kelly, Nikki, Tayler, Emily, Katie, Casey, Emily, Cory, Amber, Lexie, Sebastien and Isabella; three brothers, Florian (Rita) Hein, Appleton; Jerry (Mary) Hein, Appleton; Merlin "Spike" (Ann) Hein, Appleton; two sisters: Dolores Dexheimer, Appleton; Alice (Jerry) Plog, Ashwaubenon; a sister-in-law, Mary Hein, Appleton; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by three brothers: Clarence Hein, Thomas (Dorie) Hein, Robert (Estelle) Hein and a brother-in-law, Harvey Dexheimer.
    The funeral liturgy for Marie will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at ST THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 North McDonald Street, with Father Dennis Ryan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Appleton. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home from 5 - 7:30 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service at 7 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial funds have been established for the Leukemia Society and Breast Cancer Research.

    Appleton - Michael J. Hein, 68, of Appleton, son, brother, uncle, friend was unexpectedly called to his forever home August 23, 2018. The first-born son to Florian and Rita Hein on September 27, 1949. He graduated from Xavier High School in 1968. He attended Salvation Seminary in St. Nazianz in 1965 and 1966. Michael went on to make his way through college, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from UW La Crosse in 1974 and then a Master of Science in Education from UW River Falls in 1987. He settled down in the Houston, TX area where he worked for the Harris County School District until his retirement in 2011. Michael returned to Appleton to be with his family. Michael loved to play golf, fish, watching the Packers and listen to music. He treasured his music and stamp collections that he said he started as a teenager.
    Michael is survived by his 10 brothers and sisters: Edie, Appleton; Dick (Dar), Appleton; Dave, Appleton; Cathy Fietzer, Appleton; Jean (Bruce) Carow, Suring; Jim (Lori), Neenah; Joe (Jiyon), Columbia, SC; Linda, Appleton; Terri (Dan) Meyer, Fox Crossing; Mary, Green Bay. Many nieces and nephews, Uncles Jerry (Mary) Hein, Sturgeon Bay; Merlin (Ann) Hein, Appleton; Bob Ferron, Appleton; Aunts Alice (Jerry) Plog, Green Bay; Lorrie DuChateau, Little Chute; Mary (Walter) McCanna, New York.
    Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Florian and Rita, paternal grandparents Martin and Helen Hein, maternal grandparents Clarence and Elizabeth DuChateau, aunts and uncles.
    A Prayer Service will take place at 7 pm on Friday, August 31, at the Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel on Friday from 5 pm until the time of service.
    In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
