Obituary:
Gilbert A. Tetzlaff, Appleton, passed away Monday morning, February 18, 2008, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 13, 1928, son of the late Ewald and Amanda (Raddatz) Tetzlaff. On September 6, 1952, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Schroeder at First English Lutheran Church in Appleton. Gilbert was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in the Town of Center. He farmed most of his life and enjoyed dancing in his younger years, watching Big Joe on TV playing cards with family, friends and running a combine.
Gilbert is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy; his children: Beverly Tetzlaff, Appleton; Terry Tetzlaff, Green Bay and Rick Tetzlaff, Appleton; son-in-law, William Symons Sr., Appleton grandchildren: Heather (Adam) Risley, PA; Michele (Darin) Hagerty, MA; Will (Michelle) Symons Jr., Appleton; and his great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters: Evelyn Tetzlaff, Appleton; Arline (Robert) Techlin, Appleton; brother-in-law, Carl (Therese) Schroeder; sisters-in-law: Lorraine, Dorothy and Marlene Schroeder; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Charlotte and daughter, Audrey Symons; mother-in-law, father-in-law, Charles and Luella Schroeder; brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold Schroeder; Howard (Ardelle and Janie) Schroeder; Gordon (Betty) Schroeder; Gilbert Schroeder; Carlton Schroeder; Lois Schroeder and Julius Schroeder.
Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Town of Center, from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Suhr and Rev. Micah Martin officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at

Gilbert will be remembered as a hard working, devoted husband, father and grandfather.
