    Notes:

    Obituary:
Ronald Leo "Ron" Raddatz, loving husband, loving father, adoring grandpa, of Chilton, formerly of the Town of Rantoul, passed on to eternal life following a courageous 5 year battle with the affects of Agent Orange which he was exposed to while serving with the 595 Light Engineering Company in Vietnam. He was born September 12, 1945 in Hilbert, son of the late Irvin & Loretta (Cordy) Raddatz. Following his Honorable Discharge, Ron married Theresa Van Rooy on July 12, 1969. It was also during this time, through the VA, that he was able to pursue a carpentry apprenticeship to become a journeyman carpenter. He later created his own business, Raddatz Custom Wood Products. He was a member of the Oxbow in Hilbert, St. Mary Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Potter Business Association, and the Potoul Sportsman Club. He also looked forward to attending the Chambers Island Work Days through the Green Bay Diocese every year. In his free time, Ron enjoyed woodworking, playing Sheepshead, tinkering with model trains, ice fishing, and spending the time he had with his beloved dog, Bumpus. One of the most memorable and meaningful accomplishments in his life was the opportunity to travel back to Vietnam; once in 2004, and again in 2007. He was, as is normal, a stubborn German but he had a tremendous love of his grandchildren and had a passion to share his carpentry skills to anyone who would listen. Survivors include his wife of 44 years: Terri; children: Tim Raddatz, Larry Raddatz and his fiancée Renee, Stacy Raddatz and significant other, Ronald Grawien, Jon Raddatz, Teresa Raddatz; 13 grandchildren; a brother: Francis "Bud" (Dora) Raddatz; a sister: Lois (Robert) Hinz; and in-laws: Marge (Craig) Hively, Joan (Jerry) Paalman, Leo (Barb) Van Rooy, Mike (Donna) Van Rooy, & Mary Van Rooy. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter: Denise Marie Raddatz; father and mother-in-law: Bill & Vi Van Rooy; and a brother-in-law: Tom Van Rooy. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 3, 2013 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2013 and on Friday at the funeral home from 11:30 am until 12:45 pm.
In Ron's memory, casual attire is welcome. He would appreciate seeing you without a tie…he hated ties.
